Subject: Rearranging the forum order...

Just a thought here.
But if the order of the forums were rearranged it might cut down on alot of the off topic material in the Septagon and the Underground.
Most of the threads are created by users that don't post all that much so they just dump it in the first forum they see. Seen as these are on top of the list in ends up here.
By putting the New Mombasa or Zanzibar forum on top, well it won't reduce the amount of threads, but at least most of them will end up where they should have been in the first place.

Not bad of an idea but one thing....That'll probably mess the forums a little people won't be familiar.. And another thing, those people who dump stuff in the Underground and Septagon, they should banned or something just for that....

I don't even post in the Underground..

¬.¬

This is just too weird. I thought of the exact same idea less than 30 miutes ago.

And no, I didn't see this thread before then.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Mabye you two are like... twins.

That would be a good idea. I think that the order of the forums should go from most popular to least popular- but the Septagon should be on bottom regardless.

  • 04.28.2005 12:23 PM PDT

Twins??? Maybe not...
But I still think this would clear alot of the "junk" from the Underground and Septagon.

So it would receive the least amount of spam and off-topic gibberish. Hence keeping your favourite forum clean.

Heh... I thought about this, too.

And then I thought, why not just hide all the forums (Save Zanzibar, New Mombasa, and Optimatch), and only provide access to the other forums through a link in the FAQ. :-)

My point excatly. Thanks Keith.

Hmm, maybe they did listen but have forgotten?

Anyway, it would be a good idea. I guess, or the hiding suggestion; that was good too.

I came up with the same suggestion not terribly long ago too. It just keeps making the rounds.

I don't know why it hasn't been implemented; maybe there's some obstacle we're missing, or maybe the Webmaster's too ornery to do it.

-- Steve's wondering if the frequency of the suggestion's recurrance will go up or down when the Search that Doesn't Suck is implemented.

i think they should just make a special button for the septagon, and not make it visible in the choices... maybe make it a really really really small button at the bottom left corner of the screen, so if you're too lazy or have bad eyes, you wont be able to spam in the septagon.

But good idea though, mess with peoples minds, make them think that the ones at the bottom are less important also

I imagine there's a list of really important things to implement or fix for bungie.net on the webmaster's desk. I bet rearranging the forum list is scribbled with pencil on the bottom of the page right under the "get rid of your mom and ass jokes because microsoft finds them unprofessional" entry.
