Ive Hear a rumor that their will be 32 man servers. They will be cross platform servers setup by microsoft that wil be able to withstand the amount can anyone verify this because this is what they are doing with Star Wars Battle Front. So if this isnt True how come they cant do it with Halo 2?

that would be so cool, especially if brutes and ODSTs are playable in multiplayer, or at least as bots.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Cross what platforms? Because as of now it is Xbox only.

well i think if bungie wants to make a revolutionary
MP for H2 32 playas on line would definetly
help. and plus the lag wouldnt be horrible since
of bump mapping wich lowers pixel count
hence less graphical power needed or used
put still pushes the xbox powers to the maxx.

PC and Xbox kinda like the Final Fantasy 11 that is cross platform.
Not that they are releasing it for the PC they are just going to setup servers on it for the Xbox.

Yeah i've heard the rumours about the 32 players too...

I've got to say it's becoming more likely with all those comments by Bungie, e.g. "Halo 2 will support at least 16 players on Live.

Just remember, these are only rumours, and although they have been working on reducing the bandwidth needed, i doubt they've made too much progress.

So... just don't expect anything because then you won't be let down if they say "But we never said we would do that"

That doesn't actually make a difference to the speed and connection of the game ((lag))

Games normally have the graphics lowered for Sp anyway because of the detail on the main character in SP.

i see what u mean but that just would make matters
more complicated. but maybe if they got enough time
to work on it but not if it would push the release date back.

ok dude not tryin ta be rude but i took a class
on making servers and how games will run on
them, but yeah u still are making a valid point
just not a correct point. because games with
higher frame rates/ graphic galore are gonna
tend to be twitchy by playing them on MP. SP
wont lag since u are just loading what u are doing
and the cinematics and ingame stuff but in MP
there are 16 ppl playin so ur box is communicating
with all the other boxes which can cause internet lag.
and other problems like slow down but i dont have enough time to explain everything. :)

most of the time when you start to see your game get etchy and skippy its because of framerate droppage and when you get bullet lag and start teleporting thats what you call internet lag

alll i know is that Halo 2 is going to be a blast and that if it has 32 players that would be nice to but wouldnt it just make sense to have that much with the enormous levels 2x bigger or more then blood gulch?

Lol, i completely understand EVERYTHING you're saying about the framerate andhow that affects it... i still think my point is valid though, because it doesn't matter how low you put the graphics to sustain the high framerate, it'll still depend on the connection speed for how the game will play on LIVE.

Of course it will affect it also. I mean halo for the PC had players pinging in the 100s but it was always having framerate dops because when i even played the single player campaign on the PC it also had huge framerate droppings.
