Okay, I had to recently (unfortunately) reformat my hard drive and reinstall Halo 1 on my PC, but there is an error during install of the mxmmlenu (msi?) file and installation stops at 33%. To complete the install I have to choose to ignore that file, with the result being that i have no in game text box on my display when I play, so I can't see game or text comments and can't interact with other players - which is very frustrating. Thing is, this was working fine for me for over a year before this latest reinstall. As I've seen on other posts here for this problem, I have tried to go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo, so that I can manually install the msxmlenu setup installer to try to fix this problem. However, I get the following error message when I click to try to do the install: "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."

So, what now? Thanks in advance.

Why not just search for it on Google? Since MSXML is a Microsoft product, I'm sure you can find a download for it on Microsoft.com.

The post was helpful.. you can obtain that file from Microsoft. It may not been as helpful as yours with a link but it wasn't out of line.
In addition that user has been contributing helpful posts here for quite a while. You made a generalization and you were wrong.
