Ah, the carefree days of being single when I could have pulled something like being a pro-gamer off.

Too bad my city sucks, and no one likes Xbox. I think my team is the only 4 people in the area who actually play it on a regular basis. But we're always to busy to actually practice MP. I have enough money to take us to one of the tourny's but we'd get owned. Hopefully XBL will change all that.

I'm still not totally convinced that pro-gaming will ever really take off, but I'll watch and see what happens. Otherwise, nice interview. It was interesting to see what these people had to say.

14th.

Does anyone worry that once Halo 2 comes out for Xbox Live, we will all get owned by hardcore gamers like this? I mean, I enjoy Halo as much as the next guy, but I don't travel cross-country to play it and I certainly don't make a career of it. With gamers like these, I definitely will never get to the top of the Halo 2 list on XBL....

I can't get to any of the torunies (sp?). I can't afford to go to most of those places (only 16), and the one I did have a chance at was on my brother's birthday. I couldn't go and duel others of skill hopefully as good or better than me. Arrg! November 9th can't come too soon.

First - I think you will always be able to find a competitive game. Tens of thousands of players every day. Maybe if your lucky once in a while you might run across a legitimate pro and not someone just claiming to be one.

Second - You might not get to the top of the Halo 2 list on XBL? Most likely, sorry life sucks... better to realize this now and not later. Not everyone is a superstar.

Its gonna be freaking awesome in the future if MLG grows. I might actually be proud of saying that I dedicate my life to playing games, ot Halo for that matter. The days of giving up my killing sprees to because "that will lead me nowhere" are SO over. xbox Live will be vehicle to greatness!

Truly Beautiful post. Its really good to hear that there are more options for gamers all over the US. One question though, what is the "Duke"? that kinda lost me

The "Duke" is the original, huge, clunky controller that came out with the XBox. Around here we call it the "Boat Anchor". It's almost nonexistent in competitive play: everyone uses the S-type.

And for everyone who thinks of going to an MLG event but doesn't want to get "owned", it's a lot of fun even after you're eliminated, tons of free-play, awesome matches to watch, and you'll learn A LOT. Most competitors learn all the same tricks at tournaments just from watching others preform them.

Well I guess I am excluded from everyone. Some games I use the Scontroler but HAL0 I always take the duke.

Unit's right - our events are sick.

My game has gotten tons better since I started this company. I've had a chance to watch matches that blew my mind (you can't believe what the Pros are capable of). I've made great new friends and I've gotten to travel the country doing what I love.

Thank you bungie (and the other publishers) for making this possible
