You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

Ok i was watching the new 3d screenshot where they blow the hell out of htat warthog and it goes through the windmill. Well i rotated it slowly for about three hours (no joke) and every time i did it i noticed something new. Like, within the first couple of frames of the film you can see the light from the rocket coming in. Its casting a light on the warthog, the ground, the barrels, everything within ten to fifteen feet of the impact area. Also, you can see the contrail from the rocket before and after the impact, something else i never noticed before. And yet another thing, if you look really close, you can see the flame coming from the back of the rocket, and the whole rocket looks just -blam!-in. The ground after the impact was black, the only thing i dont like about all the damage, like the parts from the hog and stuff is that they dissapear. I think it would be neat and cool to just have the parts laying around smolering red hot, or charcoaled after being destroyed instead of dissapearing. That just drives me nuts when i blow something up, and it dissapears. Ah well, keep up the good work guys, the game is going to be played and talked about fifty years from now whether you churn another one out or not.

ive watched the E3 2004 demonstration about 10000 times and watch when he shoots a rocket at the Warthog right before blowing it up and look at the lighting on the ground. its BEAUTIFUL!! You can see all the bumpmapping on the rocky ground (the bumpmapping is incredible!!! It almost looks like normal mapping, is it normal mapping?) I dont care! The ground look amazing when real-time lighting hit it. OMG

it is pretty darn cool, i was also watching the oh the movie where he lands and walks around, you know what i mean, and when he first gets the dual smgs, i can almost see his trigger fingers moving. The yare going way into depth and the more the better.
