Moderation sounds cool, and no doubt you receive some noteriety with others in the community- but it's a tough job.

You need to be present every day, pour through hundreds (thousands?) of annoying, identical, brainless posts to shape the forum to the standards of the forum owners. People resent you, don't think you do anything, think you are out to get them, and are simply jealous.

And typically, no one ever gives you any credit. I would suggest thinking about the responsibilities, and trying to evaluate whether or not you would be willing to give up your time (especially time playing HALO 2) for moderation.

my 2 cents...

Yeah, to be honest, you will probably never even be considered for a "mod" job, and neither will the majority of the rest of us, (Myself Included)

You might be right but still I respect them alot, even though it sounds odd to respect another person who I don't know at all. They seem quite nice if you just behave and don't mess the forums up...

Now to the answer of the question: As all the other guys said you don't have a very big chance of being a moderator, but still you can create a group and then you'll be administrator of the group and ofcorse also moderator. If the group is going well and you get members then you'll feel that you're closer to a real moderator and you can make other people moderators if you trust them and there are need for moderators.
You can also become a member of one or a couple of group(s) that need a moderator, then if you'll have better chances of being a moderator atleast in a group...

Good luck!

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Attach yourselve like a leech to mod and suck up to them.
