The e-brake is actually a nitro powered boost.

Oh, that makes so much sense! When you press the brake you go faster! And the warthog is an electric car, it runs on hydrogen!

We already know, from Bungie's own site that the Left trigger is a "hand brake" and the right trigger honks the horn.

In addition, the Worthog is an electic drive by wire 4x4 with electricity supplied by a hydrogen engine. Thank you Frankie.

Nitrous Oxide will not benefit an electric motor.

"Jumping in a warthog and taking off to the enemy base. Yeah, done that before. Hitting the nitro-like power boost, screaming up a ramp and soaring majestically over a wall on a trajectory for the heart of the enemy base? Wow, that was new and oh-so sweet."
thats exactley what he said

He never directly said he boosted in the Warthog. He says about jumping into a warthog... and then he mentions boosting as if they are separate.

I'm a little confused by this. The warthogs two triggers have been confirmed as E-Brake and Horn (see e3 2k4 demonstration). The Ghost is obviously the left trigger while the right is the weapons. But with Banshee, two slots is already taken. Will it be Y, A, or B? Or will you click one of the thumbsticks? Maybe you press Y to switch from FRG to Boost.

There's a picture in the screenshots section showing a banshee with all the same purple contrails that the Ghost does when it is boosting.

It has not yet been confirmed but that picture does lead one to suspect.

The Warthog in this case was equipped with a rocket launcher and also comes equipped with a horn (R trigger) as well as an e-brake (L trigger).
There straight from the FAQ!
