I'd love to have the guys from bungie.net on my Contact List. However only mod from Aus is Regi [Why can't I be in Georgia again] and....lets face it.....no one wants to question his judgment.......

Back to the question at hand.... I'm from the maw, and we've been having some trouble on our forums as well. Our post that we hoped would open up some kind of communication with the mods has gone unanswered for about four days now, and I haven't recieved a reply to any PM's. In a few hours, we will repost the thread in this forum since it seems the mods are here more than they seem to be at the maw. I apologize in advance for any headache this will cause you guys.

We're simply trying to take an active role in correcting the situation.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

If you really need a mods attention, Pm them or e-mail them. Do not break any rules to get their attention.

You're from The Maw? It's your forums?

You're attitude should really be "I'm going to post on whichever board is most suitable for my post" rather than choosing a particular one.

Anyway, the PM or e-mail system can be used to contact us. Don't make threads if you want to talk to mods.

Hate to disagree with mods but from the maw is appropriate. Anyway, I have PMed mods and have received no reply. I asked why I was blacklisted a week ago, and got no answer. I have likewise not received a reply to the email I sent. There is a problem on the maw, maybe other forums, but I don't go to other ones often enough to see it. We who use the Maw frequently have so far blamed the mods and since no mod has replyed, we will keep doing so.

I play only Halo PC - the Maw is the most suitable for all of my discussions. If you reread my post, I said our forums, not mine. Without the forum community there would more than likely be no forum.

Chewy is right - and while I welcome your suggestion to change my attitude, I would likewise humbly suggest that our moderators follow suit. We have been ignored in the threads and in our PM's as I have already stated. If I am breaking rules by reposting the thread here so be it. If you choose to blacklist me, I will essentially be a martyr for our forum. Every regular member of the maw has united on this point.

I have said I will repost and I intend to follow through. I will do my best, as always, to keep the thread civil and respect the views and opinions of others while presenting a logical arguement. I am seriously not trying to start a flame or a war, I have said this every since our situation began. I merely would like some kind of dialogue from the mods.

Respectfully,
Inspire

Problem with having only one "your" in English. Maybe I should've said votre?

In any case, my point still stands. You may only play Halo PC, and only post Halo PC topics, but were you to want to post about your crappy weekend, you would have to post in The Flood instead. Hence the mindset.

I have never received a PM from you (that I remember), and a search of the moderator e-mail account sees only to references to The Maw (one of which seems to think that we moderate The Maw too MUCH), so therefore I haven't ignored you.

I'm not crashing on them or anything...but...

Where the heck are they. There are some really disgusting threads on here that have lasted for days, for instance "Internet Word Thingy..." in the flood (sorry Gaara of Sand and JbSpine). You guys have done a great job...and I absoloutely do not think that they have to lock every topic immediately, but some threads have gotten out of hand.

Again, I think you guys do great, and I know you have your own lives, but perhaps it's time that you add a few more mods (of course, not randomly. Some of the good, ancient members) And if things go seriously wrong, God forbid, let the disembodied soul be the mod (ok, that last thing was a joke)

I mean, one mod can't take on Millions of members. If need be, pick a trusty worker over there in the studios.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, I'm just making a suggestion. Please don't hurt me.

Umm, okay. So, where have you been for the past few days? Look through The Underground. Look at all the locks and black-lists. That's where the mods have been.

goweb, recon - you are correct - i did not pm you guys. I pm'ed another mod. In the future I will pm one of you two since you guys seem to be more on the ball.

Recon - generally we can handle ourselves, but we don't have any mod powers, so when things get out of hand, we ask for a mod to step in. When the mod does not respond, we try to think of other ways to get the mods' attention. Again - I didn't pm you, but I suppose from what I can gather, I should have pm'ed more mods when the situation first arose. Maybe next time something comes up, I'll pm all the mods, eh?

Mind you also, that I was not the sole instigator of this mess. I was merely the one who proposed we do something about it rather than sit and -blam!- all day...

btw, goweb - i caught the votre thing - my mistake, i suppose.

I did not mean to attack either one of you guys - please understand that was not my intention. Also understand that I didn't come crying here about how horrible the mods are. No matter whose fault this is, I want the situtation corrected more than anything else and steps taken to prevent future occurences.

I apologize if I have come across as spiteful.

Respectfully,
Inspire

Recon, do you mean give details of this particular instance? Or do you mean in general in the future? I believe we have this one under control now, but if something comes up again, I will PM you. As for the future, I will be sure to PM you such a situation arises so that we can work to take care of it. I understand you guys are busy, and if I can help by PM'ing you guys when something comes up, I will. I'll relay the proper procedure to the rest of the regulars.

I'm glad that at least we've figured out how to handle situations like these. I always like to resolve things rather than complain about them.

I PMed Disembodied soul, the one that blacklisted me. I sent my email to the address that was at the bottom of the blackilst page. I guess that PM more than one mod might work better next time. Do you mods talk to each other very often?

Recon - it would help a lot if you scanned The Maw a bit more. A few months ago, everything was dandy, like you have said. We were able to take care of the problems, point people in the right direction, and keep our forum quiet, friendly, and intelligent.

Recently, though, people have migrated from the Halo 2 forums, it seems, to The Maw. There are also some, well, sketchy members as well. We get more flamers, random posts, threads about illegal activities, stuff like that. At one point 3 threads about how and where people could download HaloPC and keygens were on the front page. And still they are active.

I just think the modding got a bit loose and inconsistent over in The Maw, that's all.

And by the way, I agree with the others. The Maw is our forum, Chewy, me, Inspire, muff, Mard, Obaten, [list continues]. I have been to other forums here, but The Maw is different. It's like a completely seperate community. Most members of The Maw solely converse in that particular forum. We're isolated, and we like that. We have fewer regulars than the others, and, again, we like that. It's a safe haven from the riff-raff that seems to infest a lot of the others.

Maybe the soul has turned evil? Maybe he's lonely? Either way, he blacklisted me and told me that I was trying to get around the rules by creating another account. This is untrue. I will in the future take my messaging elsewhere. He has lost my business!

I check my PMs every day as soon as I wake up, and before I go to bed. So feel free to PM me to report any problems in the forums. That's what the link in my sig is for, too.
