imagine this you are patrolling your section of the base which is built in a side of a cliff looking over a huge vallye, in the distance you see birds and stuff fly up out of the trees, as you look closer you see 2 objects skiming over the tops of the tress, you radio the comander and tell him there is an ememy attack about to happen, all you teammates man there battle stations and get into turrents missle launchers, phalanx ect.

phantom mabey pelican no

I agree 110%, pelicans are not only too big. but they also have no weapons. In MP they could just REQUIRE 3+ people to fly a phantom, like a warthog

The B-17 had over a dozen .50 calibre machine guns, and despite its namesake, it was hardly an invicible flying fortress. If bungie sticks in flying transports, which i think they should, it would all be perfectly balanced. no worries. Personally, I think a pelican is the one thing xbox sidewinder was missing. I couldn't stand how weak vehicles (e/o the ghost) where on that level and how painfully long of a walk it could be arond the cliffs or tunnels.

i agree, pelicans are a bad idea, phantoms are too. But at least their possible. reguardless of this there SHOULD be a few more vehicles that are like the ATV because vehlicles with flight are cheap in levels like zanzibar, but their big so u need transportation in CTF at least

Read the updates bro, the maps are going to be 4 times the size of the ones in Halo. Some of the fields on Halo pc were huge.

I'll be on my own side.

maybe it will be like MechAssault 2 where they have VTOLs to carry supplies and provide transportation to battle or air support. Pelicans for Spartans and Phantoms for Elites

ya most the "new" maps are going to be bigger than some pc halo levels. so they should include plenty of ground vehicles. because banshee's are hell-cheap

Banshees wont be a huge problem with target-tracking.

There are no irrelevant quotes of historical figures here. Neither will you find any links, chain posts, memes, clan advertisements, self-promotions, or the tiniest of ASCII pictures.

So go away.

Why are people saying that the Phantom is bigger. Have there been any actual comparisons of size between the Phantom and Pelican?

And even if they did put a gun on the Pelican, both dropships would still be moving targets for SPNKrs and plasma grenades. So there's no worries about losing the balance.

The only thing I would worry about is the controls. Those ships don't fly like a Banshee. If they didn't do it perfectly, moving one would be really -BLAM!-ing frustrating.

the point is if there are better flying vehicals there will be better weapons and ways to defend yourself from them.

Still the target tracking homes as well as needlers did in halo1, its not going to be anything amazing thats going to follow the banshee's all over the place. but hopefully there will be surplus rocket launchers for just such an occasion in single flag CTF

think about it why would bungie put in target tracking if there isn't some serious air action going on?

You do have somewhat of a point. Hitting Warthogs ands Ghosts with SPNKRs was easy. I dont see why they made it easier without a good reason.

Well again, target tracking isnt really going to work on a banshee if their TRYING to dodge you. ppl these rockets arent going to do flips to follow people. Pretend you shooting the banshee with explosive halo1 needlers, its not going to be a HUGE advantage

I know perfectly well that the missile wont be capable of "flips". Im saying that it will add a HUGE advantage than simply firing a rocket into the air ballistically, hoping you estimated right.

well this is true, because ive seen 8+ rockets converge on the same banshee on PC and all miss, but just dont hold your breath about the rockets goin around corners

Ok what bungie needs is more vehicles with passenger seats because of not being able to drive with the flag in halo 2. 1 or 2 new flying vehicles would be nice however i doubt it will be the pelican and phantom for the reasons that they are to big if you put a team of 8 in there is still room for more. What bungie will do i think is put in the sky hawk jumpjet how looks has not been shown but picture a flying warthog and your pretty close to how it will feel 1 pilot 1 gunner 1 or 2 passengers giving people the ability to do airiel insertions. If you want to get your entire squad somewhere then use the covie bus or the warthog transport both carry eight people which just by coincidence lines up with the number of players you can have. I mean once you start having pelicans youll want longswords and seraphs too and thats to much.
