Well I just recently bought all the Halo games and all of them work fine except Halo CE, I have the new update for Xbox Live (also I have the stock 20gb hard drive-its the one I got when I bought my 360 and I have never had any problems with it and I still don't to this day-but just a FYI) and the update for the Halo game itself and every time I try to play it I get a error message that says "Check to make sure the disc is not dirty or damaged" and the weird thing is that the game is brand new, it doesn't have a single scratch on it. Any HELP PLEASE!!!! Thanks to All!

If you're sure it is not damaged, then check it is not dirty

This sometimes happens to me with other games.

Try ejecting the disc and putting it back in.

I was trying to play Halo today on my 360 and I kept getting the same thing. Halo 2 works fine.

I have tried taking the disc out and putting it back in many times, I also have checked to make sure it is not dirty. Like I said before the game is brand new I just took it out of the shrink wrap and put it in so the disc is flawless. I have also tried deleting anything to do with Halo:CE and then starting my xbox over again and letting it download the update for the game and still nothing. Someone I talked to earlier in another forum said that it might need a different connection cause the cables that come with the 360 are to high in pixels or something like that. Does anyone know anything about that. Just as a FYI I am using the regular cables that came with the 360 and it is plugged into a regular TV not a HD. So all I did was plug in the red, white, and yellow cords into the back of the TV. Any more ides for me, and Thanks to all for the current feedback.

It has nothing to do with what cables you use. It is possibly that the disc is defective, I have had it where I bought a game and the disc was in perfect condition but it wouldn't work. Try bringing it back to where you bought it and exchange it for another.

Strange. It should work. I mean I have mine and I bought my copy the day it came out with the original Xbox. It's all scratched to hell and, remarkably, it still works.
