First of all- I think I spelled it right.
Second of all- While at Xbox parties, its a useful word to know. But I don't know how to pronounce it. Please fill me in.

Or is it not meant to be said?

Thats what I thought. But it was used repeatedly, and I thought maybe a typo had grown into new terminology. I heard it has something to do with corpse-humping.

It is just a typo that has become a running joke for those on the inside. It is pronounced owned.

Notice how p is right next to o? People who type badly accidently typed pwned. Now its just like owned, but more of a game/internet thing. No direct relation to corpse humping. Though I corpse hump people when the get "pwned."

EDIT: I pronounce it like owned.

I like how everyone believes that pwned was merely a typo at first.

As Assassin told, the term has the same meaning. Jay doesn't know how to answer the question about pronunciation of a word whose spelling is making fun of a typo or "owned"...

Jay does not understand the use of corpse humping as a taunt. Jay thinks it looks like riding the pickle, so it should be more insulting to the person doing it.

While the generally accepted pronunciation is "owned," I often hear it as "poned." Personally, I say pawned because they're simply not worth owning.

its a definite typo, i mean if you look at the keyboard, the letters "O" and "P" are right next to each other which means someone hit the other by accident
