Can't believe I'm actually defending Sizzled Chicken, but damn people are so dumb over here.
1: To the dude that thinks vectorizing well known Halo pics is stealing:
No it isn't. These pics were mostly published to show how these characters look. It is not stealing. It would be stealing if somebody would actually put a lot of effort in making a unique image and then somebody else would literally take it, don't change a thing and upload it saying "I made this". Chicken didn't do that, he put in time and his own creative talent to make a new pic, based upon an existing one. Last time I checked my media rights, it said that if you was to remake a picture making it look completely different you wouldn't steal it. In fact you would get new copyrights, since your pic is now unique.
2: To the dude saying there are no filters that can do this:
Try adjusting the input values of one of these Photoshop filers:
- Cutout
- Poster Edges
- Angled Strokes
None will give you exactly what Chicken did, but you can achieve a similar effect to what he did in about 10 seconds. So yes: there are filters that let you achieve a look like this without too much trouble
3: To cyber devil:
There is no way to tell you how to properly make this.
It basically comes down to this:
put a picture on a layer, create a new layer and use the pentool to manually trace the underlying picture. That's it. Or just use the Live Trace function.
So stop saying this is all fake. I must admit Chicken the pictures aren't that great (with all respect, they aren't. They're flat and I've seen a lot better and can do better myself) but give the guy a break. He's enjoying this and doing what he likes. He didn't steal anything, he's just doing his thing.
So to Chicken: keep doing what you do man, try to improve cuz like I said the pics are flat. Use more effect layers (no Photoshop effects, but layers with different coloring and transparancies) stop using black outlines and just try to do better with each pic you make.
And don't listen too much to the dudes telling you you're stealing, they themselfs could probably not even draw a simple stick figure ;)
