Don't drink to excess– You might shoot at tax-collectors... and miss

Computer: Power Mac G5 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (2.2) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1.25 GB Bus Speed: 900 MHz

ATi Radeon X800 XT Mac Edition
Display Type: LCD Resolution: 1680 x 1050 Depth: 32-bit Color

I guess these are mostly vehicle questions.

1) Is there a "sweet spot" where you can shoot a banshee that is more effective? Are they immune to some weapons, (sniper rifle)? It sometimes seems that I'm hitting the banshee, (I can hear the "tone" when my ammo makes contact), but they're not dying. Then I get in one and a couple of rounds hit me and I'm dead.

2) I'm behind a tank. I aim with sniper scope. I can't see the driver, but the scope turns red when I aim at the back of the turret. I fire and make contact, (hear the "tone"), but driver lives. If I didn't kill him, does it do some damage/take shields down?

3) Is the wind shield of the warthog bullet-proof, bullet resistant, or does it do nothing?

4) Does shooting a warthog in the fender do any damage to the driver, (does the hog become an "extension" of it's occupants shields/health?)

5) Do vehicles offer the same amount of protection when playing with or without shields? Does the vehicle give you more protection when you have higher shields?

The banshee is incredably hard to take out with a sniper rifle. It gives the driver armour. It takes 2 full clips of a pistol to kill them I think. If you shoot behind a tank, your bullet hits, but dooes minimal damage. You mush shoot them from the front to kill them. If you stick either a banshee or a tank, normaly they will die. The windshield is the only place on the hog that can't be stuck by a plasma. I don't know if it gives any extra protection. If you are in a vehicle, you get come protection but if your head is sticking out then you can be shot out. Normaly it takes 2 rockets to kill the driver and 1 to kill a gunner. Vehicles always give the same amount of protection.

Playing a bit more campaign mode will solve most of these questions.

about that vehicle being an "extension" of the person, i don't think that's the case. Shooting people in vehicles only works if u hit the actual person in the vehicle. i.e shooting the "engines" of a banshee when someone's in it won't damage the vehicle, when targetting an enemy ur reticule goes red and that 's when u know u WILL hit them, the same goes for vehciles, unless ur hitting them they own't take any damage, so shooting the fender of a hog which has someone in it will not damage that person. Same with sniping someone from a tank, because u can see them a headshot's still a headshot, however i'm not sure about shees, i think if u shoot the exposed person in it from behind it will do more damage, because in numerous occasions i have taken on a ghost and i keep shooting their front with the sniper rifle on impulse, and this does no damge to them.

Hitting a manned vehicle anywhere does damage, at least that's what I've noticed. If it's far away from the occupant, it will be very minimal. Closer, higher damage. This is done so you don;t have to actually plant shots on people inside of a moving vehicle.

I've taken out a banshee head on with the shotty. Never shot the rear of it, only the 'armored' front. I did waste 20 shells, but he did die.

HItting a vehicle will always do the driver damage, but distance, and weapon type will play a large factor. It's the gunner and passenger you have to hit.

I've taken out a banshee with only pistol on the armored front. It took 10 shots (dunno why it's sposed to take more).

Thanks for the info.

I frequently take out banshees with my pistol– I don't think it's always 2 clips. It could vary with the shield level the game is set up with or how many other people are shooting at them. Also, the machine gun in the hog is very effective against 'shees.

I think the only time I got one with a sniper rifle shot was from behind– the spot where you can see the pilot's uniform color. That's why I was wondering about a "sweet spot" I've been taken out of a banshee with a few pistol shots while 4 sniper rifle shots from me did not take out my opponent. That's why I was wondering if the sniper rifle is particularly weak against banshees or if you need to hit the "right" spot.

Of course, in actual team game play you often have many people shooting at one target. You could luck out and get the kill with a rather weak shot if your team mates took down your opponent's shields and health.

sniper rifles don't affect banshees at all.

Then I get in one and a couple of rounds hit me and I'm dead.

i don't think there are spots that are weaker than others. sniper rifle isn't all that good against moving vehicles. If a hog or ghost is standing still, you can shoot the driver out of the vehicle pretty easily.

2) I'm behind a tank. I aim with sniper scope. I can't see the driver, but the scope turns red when I aim at the back of the turret. I fire and make contact, (hear the "tone"), but driver lives. If I didn't kill him, does it do some damage/take shields down?

any shot to a tank does some damage to the driver.

3) Is the wind shield of the warthog bullet-proof, bullet resistant, or does it do nothing?

plasma grenades bounce off the wind shield. I think it lessens the damage of bullets slightly.

4) Does shooting a warthog in the fender do any damage to the driver, (does the hog become an "extension" of it's occupants shields/health?)

I think any part of the hog when shot causes damage to the driver and occupants.

5) Do vehicles offer the same amount of protection when playing with or without shields? Does the vehicle give you more protection when you have higher shields?

I am not sure, because i don't play without shields often.
