"Apparently people don't like the truth, but I do like it; I like it because it upsets a lot of people. If you show them enough times that their arguments are bull-blam!-, then maybe just once, one of them will say, 'Oh! Wait a minute I was wrong.' I live for that happening. Rare, I assure you."-Lemmy of Motorhead

Yes, I'm the guy who had the Flood admit to being furries.
NOTE: I'm assuming you played through Halo 3 before clicking this. If for some reason you haven't. You won't understand what I'm trying to say. read up at halopedia or something and come back and read this!
After Halo 2, we don't know anything about what happened to Delta Halo. Arbiter/Johnson/Guilty Spark/Miranda stopped it from firing. After that, not much is known. We know the Elite fleet blockaded the area to contain any escaping Flood vessels. Which of course In Amber Clad > High Charity > The Ships > Earth. And eventually In Amber Clad > High Charity > Earth > The Ark.
Attention seems to be completely drawn away from 05. The thing is, this may be more important than we think. Rtas' Vadum and his fleet arrived at earth to contain the outbreak there, but was it the whole blockade that arrived? So 2 things:
1).The Whole blockade arrived and went through the portal. Therefore, 05 was of little priority and the local sentinels had it under some control. This is unlikely, however. As The Fleet would have left before Flood Charity moved, which is an obvious threat they could not ignore.
2). Part of the fleet stayed behind. This explains the 3 to 1 ration of the brute to elite ships. And makes sense as there are Elites back at 05 to contain anything else that may pass through(includi9ng Flood Charity).
That raises the question. What did the Flood really do on 05? Did they spread across the ring after the Covenant Loyalists started occupying? Were they contained to the Sentinel Wall? We know it cannot of been destroyed as a security measure by the Elites as it is shown in good condition by the holograms at the end of the Covenant. That's a rather breach. It would have been safer to destroy the ring with everything on it, taking down the chance of any Flood escaping or any crazy Loyalist to try and start it up again(we don't know what happened to 05's index, 2401 can't have it).
The Elites previously believed the Forerunner artifacts as sacred and not to harm them. This of course, went down the drain after the Covenant fell apart and the true intent of the rings was uncovered.
Additionally, back to my point about the Flood outbreak. At the end of Halo 3 they say the Flood is wiped out. This obviously cannot be true UNLESS the outbreak at 05 has been contained. Which we do not know. And if 05 has not been destroyed, it is likely still raging.
So what are they trying to get out of keeping 05 around? What do they plan to gain?
So that raises another question, what happened to that Index? did Miranda keep it for safe keeping?
So, three questions:
Why is 05 still around?
What happened to the rest of the Flood?
Where did the 05 Index go?
Discuss. I find this could be an easy link between what the Arbiter and his Elites may do next. Making sure the Flood is quelled. It also seems to have great potential for another story after Halo 3: ODST. Almost as if these questions are built for further sequels. Perhaps Bungie could write the story and Microsoft develop the game off that as rumored that MS would make more Halo games.
