In all fairness, it's very hard to tell if a weapon is balanced or not before a game ships. But I still think that the Fuel Rod Gun and the Flamethrower are unabalanced. I might just be me setting particles to half intensity, but the flamethrower seems to have much more range than it appears to. I've been killed numerous times when I though I was out of range.
As to the FRG, It's simply too good. It has the slowdown effect of a plasma weapon, the damage of an SPNKR, and the clip size of an assault rifle. As to the overheat time, it's nice to have a "DON'T SPAM THIS YOU NOOB" feature, but you shouldn't need more than 6 shots or so to kill everyone in the immediate area. The 'lobbing' effect makes it a little harder to use, but It took me about 2.5 seconds to get a good idea of how to aim it.
In conclusion, here's a brief wish list for the next patch:
*A mod that lets you run faster (the run speed is quite out of proportion with the jump height)
*A mod that lets you include or exclude certain weapons from a map (NOT just Covenant/ Human weapons only)
