I know this has been done a bunch of times but I'm pretty bored and I always find it fun to read what other people have for Halo. I want details and lot's of them... What is your setup for Halo 2 and/or what do you plan on getting to play Halo 2 with? Are you planning on buying an xbox? Xbox Live? What kind of Tv and how big do you have/are you getting? How about your speaker setup? Is your house networked for LAN games? What kind of controller do you use, how about other xbox accessories...do you have a headset? Wireless or no? What do you plan on getting for Halo 2, if you don't have anything yet? I think you get the point, everything and anything you have for Halo 2.

To start off my house is networked for Crazy LAN games, I have 2 xbox's in my house, one mine the other is my roommates. We have a 27" inch Sony Flat screen for one xbox (an excellent TV) thats all that xbox has (plus 2 Duke Controllers and one Type S). The other xbox is on my pride and joy, a 50" RCA Scenium DLP TV, that xbox is also hooked up to my Sony Reciever and my AC-3 Decoder (which will allow the Audio on Halo 2 to blow everyother video game away). On my xbox I have the High Defenition A/V Kit, this gives my xbox component video outputs which makes everything much more crisp and clear, and allows the colors to be more vibrant (excellent for sniping). The A/V kit also allows me to use Optical Output for my AC-3 Decoder so I can have true surround sound. I have 2 JBL speakers for my fronts(midrange/tweeter and 15" woofers in each), for my rears I have 2 Optimus speakers (midrange/tweeter and 10" woofers in each), and for my center I have an Infinity speaker (2 midranges and a tweeter) and then I have a powered 10" infinty subwoofer (ported) for some major bass. All of this is hooked up with Monster Cable for superb audio clarity. I plan on getting Xbox live about the same time Halo 2 comes out and I am definatly getting a headset (probably just buy the XBL kit that comes with a headset). I also might buy a third Xbox just for LAN purposes. Here is a pic of part of my setup.
Now tell me about yours

excellent set up dude, lol mine is like the hole in the wall set up, my philosophy is "its not how ya look its how ya play the game" so I got a 27" tv in a 9' by 12' room that I call my own and the x-box is plugged right into the tv

Nothing special... a 36" sony Wega, great TV, HD cables, and a cheesy little two speaker external stereo that actually works pretty nicely. 3 controller S's, one clear green, one japanese SE, and one regular, and two dukes. I added an LED behind the gem of the regular s, and filled the green clear one with them, even with rumble activated ones, and one of the duke's I made holes in for LED's on the inside of the handle for rumble lights, and one in a hole in the middle above the start/back buttons. I have the xbl stuff, just one headset, I don't have people over playing much, but I might once H2 is out.

My TV sound sucks. Its a bigscreen and all, but I really need a surround sound system. So I'll prolly pick up some cheap one along with Halo 2. I've seen some runnin about 100 bucks. Not bad. I just need good sound for Halo 2.

Oh, and I move the frig into the living room and buy two-months worth of food.

Well, my TV is cool... 51" Toshiba CinemaView. My sound system is just pieces put togther... 1 Jamo bookshelf speaker, one Alesis studio monitor speaker, and a Sony amp / reciever! lol...

Point being: anyone have suggestions on a reasonably priced (under 300 bucks) surround system?? Which name brands do u guys suggest i look into??

well lets see. i have an xbox (duh). 3 controller S's, 2 Dukes, 3 infrared dvd sensor things but only one remote (dont ask), 2 memory cards, 2 headsets, a 21" old Mono Zenith TV, a nice Sony surround sound receiver with a bunch of extra modes and gimmicks that make it sound better, my 2 back speakers are some old mega-bassTM Sony's and my 3 front ones are a 3 set Pioneer pack that was sold as a 3.1 set-up special, a Sony 12" subwoofer, and Adelphia cable broadband service that works sweet for all my online gaming needs: Pc or XBox LIVE.

And yeah, Opey could probably win that game without using his BR. Best SMG user in Halo.

I've said this before in another post, but here's my setup. I have my own personal entertainment room that is enclosed so that no light may enter. I have 5.1 digital SS, a 60 inch projection screen, shelves where my DVD player and Laserdisk players sit (they sit on the left). And on the left is my almighty Xbox with Xbox live and System Link directly hooked up. I have a couch sitting 5 feet away from the Screen and all of my Xbox controllers have extension cords, and I have to headset communicators. Pretty sweet huh? I'm not lying. My dad's a pilot!

I have a 51" Toshiba HDTV Widescreen projection tv it's pretty sweet. The HDTV componenet cables for x-box. Any games that are high def look bad ass. I don't have a stereo yet except for an old bose system that's out-dated. I'm thinking about getting a new one but the one I want is like almost 3 grand. No matter what, I will be getting a system with at least 5.1 surround before halo2 comes out.

My set up is pretty sweet. My house is wired with cat 5 to every room, so lan parties are extremly easy to set up. Three of my buddies will bring their boxes over and connect each of them in a different room.

My living room has a 50" Sony LCD HDTV with the monster component video and optical audio connected to my xbox (obviously this is where I play <evil grin>). Each of the other rooms has a 27", which isn't too bad...

I'm running a 6.1 yamaha reciever with KLH speakers. I purchased the tower speakers for the better range and I've got dual subs running in the front of the room so the bass is punchy. Since I don't have to push either sub to the max to get a lot of bass it sounds pretty tight, especially during large fire fights when a few grenades are going off in close proximity.

All in all I'm pretty happy with it. I'm looking forward to purchasing a projector in the near future (not sure if I'll get it prior to halo 2), but for the time being it will DEFINATELY do...

Thats fine if your system is better, you really don't have to gloat, but is this your personal setup or your parents? Mine is my own in my rent house...if you want to get technical I could talk about what my dad has at home but I really dont have the time or space....lets just say big ass widescreen projection screen, a JBL 7.1 surround, plus 3 seperate woofer inclosures (6 woofers in all to make a combined 144 inches, not including the 7.1) plus a sunfire powered sub with 2 12's....plus an xbox, tivo, replay, HDTV, Satellite, and all the other fun accessories, amps, reciver, dvd player, etc.....oh yeah the walls are also covered in Auralex brand acoustic foam (floor to ceiling, wall to wall)....thats the amazing thing.

well I've got a 32" toshiba in my room (where the xbox is) and I plan on getting one of those 802.11g wireless things for my xbox when I get live, but I've been trying to convince my dad to let me use the 60" LG HDTV downstairs... it's an LCD/projection so he thinks that games will leave imprints for the health and ammo bars and stuff. Does anyone know if this is true? I'd like to get some hard evidence against him, so if you have any please just PM me.

If its rear projection this is not true...most newer Tv's don't burn images anymore as it is...anyway for an image to get burned into a tv it takes hundreds of thousands of hours of the same image never changing....it would take a long ass time for halo to burn the health and ammo into the screen.....a really really long ass time, your tv in your room would burn the image in before the big one
