Subject: Can you use 48 hour trial to download Halo 2 maps?

My friend only has Silver and you need Gold to DL the maps, so I was going to give him a 48 hour trial code, but I notice it says it's good for only multiplayer and only for 360 and won't give you other features, but would it work to DL the maps? I'd rather not waste the code if it's not going to work, so please help.

If it's a pass to play online then it should work fine because MS won't let you play online without the maps. However, MS is sly so because your friend already has an account (silver) they might no allow it. You may only be able to use a trial if you do not have an account already. It's only, like, $7.99 for 1 month.

The card says it only works for Xbox 360 and for multiplayer, but since this is kind of a grey area, since it only doesn't work cause Halo 2 isn't setup for a free tier of Live, it's hard to say if it'll work and I don't want to waste it if it's not going to.

Yeah, good call.

I'm pretty sure it'll work. I doubt Halo 2 would recognize if you're using a trial code or a paid subscription. You get access to Live or you don't and the trial code should allow you to enjoy all the privileges of a subscribed service for original Xbox games at least.

That shows how much I know! Fatso is right more times than not so you might want to take a chance.
