Yes, I'm digging up this REALLY old dead thread.
1st, to thank BDaiber again for all that he did in reporting everything he could back to us.
2nd, to congratulate the guys on the advertising spread. I saw it in a few magazines and it looked great.
3rd, to point out that with the bad came some good. Bad = letting Mt. Dew run this sham of a contest. Good = opening Bungie up to working with other companies in promoting Halo2 and apparently learning from this debacle.
What am I speaking of you ask? Of the ilovebees Alternate Reality Game of course. Run by 4orty2wo Entertainment, who was hired by Microsoft to help give something back to the hardcore Bungie fan and to help advertise Halo2. I played the game almost from beginning to end and there were few if any complaints about the end result and enjoyment of it from anyone I know that did play it. I attended the Nov 5th pre-opening party put on by Bungie, Microsoft, and 4orty2wo Entertainment and had a great time.
So I'd like to officially thank Bungie for learning from this experience of working with other companies and using it to better their later fan-promotions. I'm loving Halo2 (for all it's flaws) and can't wait to see what might be coming next.
See you all on live.
