I honestly do not know where the hell this point came from, but since ppl seem to be able to express there opinions about it, i guess i will.

There has been alot of talk about those dam, evil covies rebeling against there religion and joining the human side. Well that has to be the dumbest idea ive heard in a looooong time. The covenent are a group of religiously bent races, that are raised to kill humans. They are noble to there leaders, and betraying there religion would bring great disshonor (not to mention how angry there gods would be). Also, anyone who thinks there gunna switch sides, have u read the books? The covies have no respect for humans. They round up all the civilians they can get and melt them with plasma. Then, they melt the planet with the survivors. Now, i dont know about u, but that doesnt sound like the kind of group that would so easily switch sides. And about the human=forerunner theory, i havent read it, but i already disagree with it (after hearing some ppl try to defend it).

im not dissing anyones theories im just saying how pointless trying to guess halo 2's plot is.

Uhm, the scenario is, what if the Covenant discover their "Gods" are the Humans?

Sure, many of them will try and ignore the evidence presented, or claim it was falsified but a great many others will look towards the Prophets and growl deep in their throats... obviously angry that they've been used for the past few thousand years.

Some of them are so stupid that they're funny though. I try to avoid the ones that make any sense in case they're lucky and hit the nail on the head. All the forerunner/human and covie rebellion "theories" are pathetic. Not like I could come up with anything better, but they're incredibly illogical.

i also hate when im in a regular thread an ppl refer to the humans as forerunners, and say "well when the covies switch sides then..." like they know %100 its gunna happen.

So how do you know that? I think it is probably a likely twist in Halo 2

no its a very unlikely twist that would ruin the game. If the covies switched to our side, then WTF would we fight? the flood only? in order to keep it a good game, all these crazy theorys will not be in halo 2.

*lol* What's even "sadder" and ironicially amusing is that some people are so bored that they spend their time whining and complaining because other people are coming up with Halo2 theories that they're just not intelligent enough, or too lazy to come up with themselves.

Go ahead, find a hole in my logic.

Say, for sake of argument that the Covenant are provided proof that the Forerunner are Humans and that the Prophets have been hiding that information from the rest of the Covenant in order to maintain their iron grip?

Most likely, a great many of the Covenant will refuse to even look at the evidence, grow angered that anyone would dare flout their beliefs. Some will look, some will understand and some will believe. The Prophets would be spinning damage control.

The elites who came to look at the evidence and believe it in particular. They are quite loyal to the Forerunner. They'd be roused to anger at being mislead, shamed at their dishonour, and would likely act.

The Brutes we don't know enough about to say anything, and the Hunters are just plain mysterious.

The Grunts, are very likely to revolt, but they'd need strong leadership to overcome their cowardly natures.

In the end, you're looking more at a Covenant civil war then an "Alliance" between the Covenant and Humanity.

Hmm... I think that people should be allowed to offer thories if they want. Some people like to read them. And...if they don't they've simply wasted their time. No one should assume the plot though so your right about the "when the covenant revolt" thing but I think starting a thread about it and stating that they won't is basically making the same mistake.

Simply put, no-one except bungie knows the plot so no one should assume anything. After all bungie may decide to add fairies into the game and bring peace between the two races or somehing you just never know for sure... (I'd like to point out that I strongly believe that won't happen thogh ;)

(Sigh) Ok, first of all: If there was a Covie civil war, there would be no Grunts to kill, and no Elites to beat to death. That be no fun yes?

How untrue. Just because some elites and grunts come over to your side doesn't mean you'll stop shooting them. In many ways it would be MORE exciting. In a heavy firefight it would be utter chaos, telling apart your elites from the Prophet's elites trying to kill you would be gloriously insane.

It would be funny to see an elite who has been enlightened about the covies wicked ways to wear some Marine armour and him being to big to wear it lol. It could be a possibility if some Elites handle the truth and decide to fight against their previous slaving masters. I think the humans need all the help they can get too.

*grins* You should try playing without IFF on in multiplayer. It's the bomb. Hearing your enemies shooting at each other, calling out, "Jack, Jack, is that you I'm shooting at!?" just makes me fall over laughing every time.

That level of confusion is mightily adrenalin pumping.

Another thing is that people arent trying to gueswsthe plot, they are just theories to think about and people express their opinions about how likely that theory is, so if u dont like people posting about theories joe, then just dont read the thread.

Secondly, I do feel that the some of the covies will rebel, but that doesnt mean that they will join us, it would buy us some time to set up something big.
