Unfortunately, that makes no sense. The point of the rendering minutes is to cover the cost of the amazingly resource-intensive hardware required to render the videos, so if you delete them, you don't 'unrender' them, it doesn't pay Bungie back for what this has cost. So, sorry, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Actually it makes a lot of sense. We're also paying for the finished video to be stored on their servers. If a video is deleted, that frees up storage space.
The problem is, that's not what is costing them. The Halo 3 video system wasn't designed to be rendered for computers, I don't believe. Essentially, imagine that they have stacks and stacks of Xbox 360s hooked up to capture cards in computers, and how much it cost to set that up and keep it running. Storage and bandwidth is cheap. The rendering points are for just that, the rendering, not the storage.
