I was just wondering if a radeon 7500 agp graphics card would work for halo pc?

P.S. Sorry for such a noobish question.

i'm reading this specification right off of the box:

"video card: 32MB/3D T&L capable"

I don't know what T&L means, but u could try to google it.

note: this is the MINIMUM specification, meaning ur performance could be really crappy unless you get something better.

It will run at minimum, absolute minimum, with lag. It might not even run.

Since we're on the subject of graphics cards, is a connect X800XT agp any good?

not what you want, find a GeForce 6600 Ultra, GT or Standard on the net. Great card low price. It will run anything you throw at it in Direct X9. It comes with some pretty cool tweak software to!

6600 gt is a bit lower than an X800XT. Why would you say DX9? nVidia cards run better on OpenGL.

Tweak software? Not that good. The best is either CoolBits for nVidia or ATi Tray Tools for ATi. The ones that come with the card are pretty weak.

If you have a low budget. The 6600's and 6800's have AGP versions too, although they aren't as good and more expensive than their PCIe counterparts.

X850XT. Yeah, quite expensive, but, I see X850XT PE's go for $350-$400 new now on eBay. Never discount online auctions...

Just make sure you read the shipping and handeling blurb. They can really get you there.

If you're into tweaking, get a card that is easily overclockable, which nvidia is better choice. If you get a PCI-E card, DO NOT GET ANY OF THE X300 SERIES!!! I have an X300SE, and it can't play halo on 800*600 smoothly with all special fx on.

X300 is comparable to a 9550. Relatively low-mid card. Not all PCI-express cards are faster than the AGP generation. Only the X800 surpasses the 9800 series in performance.

For reference:

X300 = 9600
X600 = 9600XT
X700 = 9700-9800
X800 - X850 = unmatched last gen

Those are relative comparisons. Also factor in that the newer cards have a slightly better core, but that doesn't really change much.

The T&L on the back of the box mean Transform and Lighting. They're special effects for the game.

I don't know about a 7500. I just ordered a Dell PC with a 256MB nVidia GeForce 6800 graphics card.

How much did you pay for it? I bet you could have made that system yourself alot cheaper.

Don't confuse ATi with nVidia. the 6800 is far better than the 7500. Far better, ie at least 15x, not even a joke there.

You can always build a pc for cheaper than a prebuilt.

I meant soldier. It sounded like he was wondering if the 7500 was better than his 6800 [number is larger, but then again different company]
