i run a clan called =PÄT=, which stands for "People Against TKers". If you see tkers on the bungie ctf servers or anywhere else, post the tk'er's name here. Just wanna see if the number of tkers that play will get bungie's attention and make another patch.

Umm there is no need for a patch there is already auto ban if someone tks more than I think 7 times and you can choose ff or no ff. You can also ban them by right clicking the halo ican and afer " put a space then -console. Then when you start a game hit ` or ~ and enter in sv_layers find the players number then type sv_ban (inster players number here) or subsitute kick instead of ban.

There really is no need for this post. Sorry. It just singles out people, and while they may very well be @$$h0les, dont put yourself on the same level as them by singeling (sp?) them out.

Keep in mind that for every 7 cool people you meet online, there is the one idiot.

You can simply ban them if they get REALLY annoying.

about autoban: you get banned if you tk about 4 times. if they (the tker) quits, then comes back, he doesn't get penalized.

Sry...

But if that really gets on your nerves, just leave the game. It doesnt have to be a bungie-dedicated server to be a good game.

well, if you aren;t the host then you have to know who to avoid. I have had lots of problems with tkers in the past (puposeful tking, not accidental), and my policy is usually to spend the rest of the game making their life a living hell. Unfortunatley, this only gets me banned, as most servers have an autoban for people who tk 3 times or more. Your clan has a very just cause and i like it. of course, u problay have to deal with a-holes that join your servers for the sole purpose of tking. It souds like something i would have done about a year ago, until i realized being a jerk got you banned.

Thanks for the siggy link, Obaten.

Yeah, Me15er - I disagree. I think listing the TKers is a good way to cut down on it. Criminals have their names listed on public record, and I think that TKers should have a similar fate.

Unless they are actually so ghey that getting their name in a thread like this helps them get off.....dammit.

Ya know what? I think you're right, me15er....

Punj is not banned or "removed" from the servers in any way as far as I know, because I saw him online on the EU servers over the weekend. Maybe you've just been lucky enough to keep missing him when you go on there.

Another point about this thread...

Isn't it possible to change your name at will? What if these tk'ers are just using someone else's online name? It could be possible that they are just trying to impersonate someone else...

Drop it, it's a waste of time.

ya another problem is that these TKers could just change their name in an instant as there's no defenite name for Halo PC, i think by just putting a space before the beggining of their name, any banned file won't recognize them as the same person, they could also just put certain letters as capitals to change their name. But really, i also have to agree with me15ter, what is this going to do other than let us know who maybe a couple TKers are.

The thing is i realize that there probably aren't a lot of people playing who are just total jerks, joining a game, just to TK everyone, like obviously people who TK are just bored and go into a server to piss people off, they TK a bunch, quit, then probally quit Halo, or in most cases the TKer started out on the opposite team, was losing, and switched to your team to kill his "enemies", to help his original team win.

the chances of you seeing this person again are slim to none, whatever just forget about it, and even on the Bungie servers, what is knowing their name going to do about it, whenever i encounter a TKer i just reach for my trusty pistol and know what to do :)

this is not true. I have been banned from a server for saying that he was hosting too many ppl since there was so much lag. He wouldn't admit it and banned me. I tried making new profile names, but the banlist records your cd hash or id or whatever, so a name change won't get you past the banlist.

You get banned by your IP address. I have the use the same key on both my comps and when I get banned, I can just use the other one. Although it I get banned, it's probably not worth it, cause theres some idiot there.

chewy - if both PCs are on a LAN, then the DNS IP is shared between them. What let you play, more than likely was the fact that your other PC had a different CD key.

As far as I know, bans are executed against CD Keys - which are UNIQUE. No changing names or IP addresses can get around a CD Key ban. The only drawback is that you almost have to be a server admin to get somebody's cd-key. However, it does cut back on the number of impersonators.

This was a problem that was posed to me when I initially considered the CE Stats Project - how do we keep ppl from copying names and messing up the stats? Easy - ID them with their cd-key, not their gamertag.

I've had the "HACKER!!!! I'm getting his IP address now" routine as well. Needless to say...I'm still online too. It happens quite a lot when certain people blame you for them being a bad player. Nothing's ever happened from stupid threats like that.
