I think it would be great if you could pull and hold left trigger and that would be like letting the pin go on the grenade. . . . a timer would start from that, after expiring, the grenade would explode. So you could press and hold, count to yourself and then let the trigger go to throw the grenade. Depending on when you let it go, it could explode in mid flight. Wouldn't it be more realistic this way? Fragmentation grenades would be much more usefull this way. They are entirely too easy to avoid.

thoughts?

1. A frag doesn't go off till it hits the ground
2. Plasma could stick to you're hand

it would be hard to do it that way... but I always wished i had more timing options in my grenades.. lots of times..when a grenade actually goes off everyone has jumped out of the way.. excecpt for a grunt or somthing.

I plasma grenade would NOT stick to your hand. Simply watch the 03 E3 demo when MC activates it, then throws.

I think this idea is good. I play Americas Army, and its essential that you "cook" your grenades before you throw them for two reasons.
* It gives the enemy less time to escape
* It gives the enemy less time to react.

Cooking grenades i could see a lot of arms falling off in Halo 2. Cooking grenades were essential in Return To Castle Wolfenstein if anyone has played that.

I can see how this creates a bit of an advantage, so Bungie could impose a logic rule that you could only fire a one handed weapon (only one one handed weapon :) ) while in the act of cooking (I love that phrase) a grenade.

this seems like simple enough logic to incorporate in Halo 2 even with a deadline fast approaching . . . if it hasn't been incorporated already . . .

time for a poll?

The more realistic the actions of your character, the better the game. If cooking is too complicated for you, don't hold the button down. I say cook it.

you guys are idiots, you know why you cant cook grenades in Halo? Because the timer for the grenade won't start until it lands on the floor, AND, the timer is at .5 seconds, if you wanted to cook that, I'm SURE you'll have PLENTY of time for the grenade toblow yourarmoffinstead of your entire torso.

Besides...."Grenades" have a clip and a little handle thingy..if you tripped and let go of the handle thing itd blow up in 5 seconds...And plasma...its stick to your hand...and burn *looks at hand* ouch

Ub3rshade,

That's why they're making a 2nd Halo . . . if I wanted the exact same Halo all over again I'd by Halo . . . again. The point is, with Halo 2 things [u]will[/] be changed. Why couldn't this be one? Of course, if we could cook grenades Bungie would obviously have to change the timing logic . . . so, change it . . . it's all just 00110010011010101010. If someone holds the grenade too long and it explodes in their hands, well, then doom on them (wouldn't it be cool to see that happen to someone (In Halo ;) ).

Just think, you know soneone's crouching behind a rock, you have no plasma grenades, pull the frag grenade pin, wait till 3 and chuck it . . . what a rude awakening when a grenade explode above your head. Now that would be cool !!

I like the idea of cooking a grenade, adds strategy and also lets you line up a great new death charge, just fought and killed two people only have one bar of health, you know more people are coming after you do what Vasquez does in Aliens and take some bastards with you!
