You are not a mistake; God has never said "oops." Seek Him and you will find Him. Do not seek Him, and you will not find Him. He respectfully leaves the choice up to you.

I was wondering if anyone has a really good exfiltration method for CTF in Blood Gulch (you're on Red Team). I usually go in with a 'hog, complete with gunner and possibly passenger, and after grabbing the flag, going clockwise from rear of base towards red base, then taking an immediate left, and then hugging the cliff wall until I reach the rear of red base. I have other methds too, but they are dependent upon specific things happening.

Yeah. Improvisation is the name of the game in any given map. What tends to work the best is using the loaded hog as a distraction more than anything else, but here's a plan. Get a fully loaded hog and a ghost. The hog goes around the base shooting as it pleases while the ghost gives cover by strafing around the base and shooting. the passenger of the hog jumps out near the back exit and piles into the base, grabs the flag, and comes out the other exit. The ghost, in the meantime, tracks him and pulls right in front of the base in time to swap his ghost with the guy with the flag. The hog then pulls around and gives the remaining guy on foot a lift back to base. The only weapon suggestions would be a fuel rod for the guy originally in the ghost and a rocket for the guy in the hog passenger seat at first.

i have a good one, this wins every time unless your playing against GOD LIKE players like myself ;)....
it dosent matter what team ur on for this to work*
you have one guy (or more w/e u want) rush to the enemy base and steal the flag from inside.. you will also havea man on top of the enemy base and once the guy inside has the flag he jumps and presses fire to throw the flag up on top of the base to his team mate, (like a hand off) then the man on top goes threw the teleporter where another guy from your team drives up with a wart hog to the teleporter and picks up the player from on top of the base who now has the flag and went threw the teleporter. And the brave man who is still inside the enemy base... he is basically doomed.

The hard part of this plan is acctually getting inside the base or on top without dieing
If u are playing 2 vs 2 u can make minor adjustments to the plan how u see fit buti have never lost a match in halo out of over 300 games and this has worked for me every time i hope it can help you.

Ah, a well conceived plan. Only one thing would make it more perfect: having either a person or vehicle placed on top of the teleporter once the flag runner is on his way.

It depends where they are and if you have a vehicle. If they're not at base, and you have no vehicle, then through the caves. If they are, then it's a teleport and a very clever run back to base.

those are good points. To be a great halo player you have to be able to improvise when the time calls for it.

it'd also be nice to have a strong team to back you up. usually i can get a few runs in a row when both warthogs are being used, and filled to capacity (although last time someone rode on top with an AR...that was weird). one 'hog provides cover fire and takes a hit when needed, the other stops in, drops off passenger, picks up, and runs away with the flag :p

A to B

You are not a mistake; God has never said "oops." Seek Him and you will find Him. Do not seek Him, and you will not find Him. He respectfully leaves the choice up to you.

Those are all nice and all, but if you want to get into specifics, I'd have to say that my favorites would have to be stealing the flag, teleporting out, getting into the hog I parked near the teleporter, backing over the 'porter, and then waiting a few seconds, so that they think that the warthog is permanently there (they can't see the flag carrier's flag when he's driving) and then once I know that they have given up on teleporting, I drive off and they are chasing on foot (where they'll never catch up) and get a pretty easy capture.

But now, for the mother of all flag captures, (I have actually done this once):

I'm in the middle of the field, holding the middle ground, when I hear that my flag has been captured - I get the invisibility. The guy successfully gets through the porter, and foots it back to his base while the rest of my team is figuring out what's going on. I silently and happily follow him back, completely unbeknownst to him, and as he walks up the ramp to drop down in to the base and score, I beat him in the back of his head and return my flag mid-fall as I drop down and pick up their flag. I run back up top, seeing my enemies respawn at their base due to their failed attempts at capturing my own flag, and take the teleporter to the middle of the field, and I start running back to my base. By this time, I've told my teammates what's going on, and they're heading to where I just left, taking out all the blue guys that teleported after me. They also send a jeep, which I dodge twice and head up the ramp, down the hole, and score a flag for my team - this when I have one good player and the rest newbies on my team, and a team that has worked together for quite some time on the blue team. Was at one bar of health when I scored, had to have been the most intense score ever, lol.

all good strats, but the enemy has a way of messing up well laid plans. oh well, if you got a team mate that's not a tard ask him to block the tele with a hog and wait in it grab flag he moves and you teleprt into a waiting hog gunner unleash hell at teleporter as you drive off and cap ( basically the hog at teleporter slightyly modified) also a handy thing to remember is when driving back to your base with the flag dont drive near their teleporter as that's just asking for trouble, instead take the time to cross to the other side and make it easier on your self

I've got a couple pretty good strats for Blood Gulch, and I've actually done them both before.

#1 - This takes perfect timing. Two guys in the hog, the driver and the gunner. Take off full speed to the enemy base. Gunner jumps out at the enemy base while the driver continues on fullspeed to the teleporter (midfield). The gunner picks up the flag, gets on top of the base, and teleports just as the hog and driver gets to the midfield teleporter. The gunner high-speed mounts the hog and high-tail it back to base for the cap. Not my original idea, but I've done it before and if you have a good driver and good gunner\capper, it's a piece of cake. Definately gotta have your high-speed mounting technique down to do this one.

#2 - This also takes perfect timing. This works for picking up the flag and delivering the flag. Two guys in the hog, the driver and the gunner. The driver heads toward the base full-speed, aiming in between two of the pillars on the top. When the hog is close enough, the gunner faces backwards, dismounts and jumps just as the driver nails the brakes. This sends the gunner flying up on the top of the base....and if you practice enough, you miss the top of the base and just land in the hole in the top of the base.

Niether of these are really all that practical in a "real" match, but it takes some serious skill and teamwork to accomplish either.

And if you're in a hog all by yourself and wanna cap without using the doors....try this....
