I have been reading Chaplain and Eagles theory lately, and well, I have something to add to Forerunner = Human idea. A guy named Lucian, has brought this to my attention.

"The Mote series (by Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven, Niven also wrote Ringworld) played a big part in influencing the storyline of Halo."

The alien races, (One imparticular) learns that sense they all keep destroying themselves repeatedly, they should make a "Museum," to keep track of all of their lost technology, so after every war, when they blast themselves to the stone age, they find this "museum" and they are able to better their attempts to become technologicly advanced. Now, the Halo's, well, you get the point, they serve basicly the same purpose here, and the game was even inspired upon the books.

I hope this helps some people understand a little bit about this theory on how the Forerunner are Human. I agree with what Chaplain has said, but I disagree with his attitude, maybe you guys could do the same. Please don't flame me, as you did to Chaplain, And remember, Lucian brought all of this to my attention.

Even with all the evidence, I'm having a hard time believing that Bungie would make it that easy. If this is the true plot, then I'll be devestated. As interesting as it sounds, it still doesn't seem right.

What's so simple about it? Nobody really found out about it. The few people that did had to spread it around the internet.

Thanks Wing_Zero, but I wouldnt have looked more into if it wasnt for Chapaine, in the Mote series, the Humans meet these Aliens, and the aliens keep getting into wars, and like practically blast themselves back to the stone age, but they have built big "museums" before most of them die out, and the surviors of the war, reproduce, and seek out these "museums" so that their technology can advance much faster, and give them power. But see, so many of them died out in each war, there arent really enough to keep advancing and such to stay technologically advanced, so these survivors seek to "RECLAIM" their lost technology, but through generations and generations, they forget, and they eventually find these things, and have no clue what they are, or who built them.

And it is very possible, that with the Humans, they could have almost died out in a battle with the Flood, but before hand, they built big Halos to contain the Flood, and the humans that were left on the Halos were contaminated, leaving only the humans that werent on the Halos, to reproduce, and eventually they forget they were the forerunners. They could have built 343 GS to protect and monitor the Halo (installation 04). But after all the humans died out, he was left there, for 100,000 years. So when Master Chief, gets to the Halo, 343 believes that he has come back to "RECLAIM" Halo, hence, why 343 calls him RECLAIMER.

ALSO, 343 never calls them the "Forerunners" which Eagal 117 pointed out, which is why 343 says "To have a record of all of OUR lost time... Human history is it?" hes is suprised cause he never knew them as humans, he knew them as what they called themselves before they were practically wiped out. So they called themselves "Humans" sence they forgot what they were through the generations.

BUT, in the Mote series, the Motes have a caste system, much like the covenant, they are composed of a bunch of races... BUT in the game 343 calls MC the "RECLAIMER" and "OUR" lost time "Human history", it seems Bungie has kinda switched it around abit. Making the Covenant like the Motes, but the Humans are the ones blasting themselves back to the stone age.

That's.... very good. I understand completely how that could be put together into Forerunner = Human theory.

The Mote series (by Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven, Niven also wrote Ringworld) these books have seemed to have played a big part in influencing the storyline of Halo.

Ive only read the first book, but it tells alot about their history. Its called...

"The Mote in God's Eyes" Book 1
"The Gripping Hand" Book 2

Those are the only ones I know of, lol, he wrote book two 18 years after the first one! thats -blaming!- crazy!

These are the Ringworld books by Larry Niven

"Ringworld" Book 1
"The Ringworld Engineers" Book 2
"The Ringworld Throne" Book 3
"Ringworlds Children" Book 4 - Which talks ALOT about how the Humans built the Ringworld. It also talks about how the Ringworld is decaying (like it has a virus) and needs to be either restored or destroyed.

Hey chaplain, are you going to add this to your theory? If you do you should put in that whole thing with 343 not calling the humans Forerunner, but Reclaimer, it adds more thought to your theory.

I mean, this theory makes alot of sence to me, what do you people in the forums think about it? I mean, yeah, Im very open to other theories, some make alot of sence, some dont, but I think this is one of the ones that is way up there.

hmm........now everyone from time to time has said "oh damn, you have ruined the plot of halo 2 for me" - but honestly, I think that you might have nailed down a large piece of the human = forerunner we shall see in halo 2, nice work. 8 )

good work to the following - Lucian, Eagle 117 and chaplain for their theories.

But I think that by adding the pieces that do fit in all your theories that ultimately it all adds up.

so well done to you guys.

Thanks man, and even with Eagle 117's theory about ONI, Akerson, and the Cloned MC, this theory is still possiable, and doesnt effect his what so ever.
