Hey all, I have the xbox version of Halo, and loved the coop mode. I'd like to play it with a friend of mine who's never had the pleasure of experiencing it, but I'd heard the PC version didn't have the coop mode. I looked high and low for info, but all I saw was that one thing that said it didn't have it. So does it have it, or was what I read correct? Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

Also, where in God's name is the search function on this forum?? Thanks =)

There is no co-op on PC. As cool as that would be, it just isnt. Sorry.

That's just a real shame. To me, before xbox live, it was the heart and soul of the game. How could they leave it out?!?!?!?!?!? Man I'm really pissed. Thanks anyway guys.

Nope. For some reason Gearbox Software didn't add the Coop mode which angered both Microsoft and Bungie. Other then that, the PC doesn't much, it was created for people who didn't bought the Xbox. Best to just wait for Halo 2 if you are console player since you get multiplayer as well.

No, there isn't. Interestingly, though, there isn't one in the PC version of Doom 3 either (although there is in the Xbox version, both through System Link and Live). Obviously co-op is just too difficult to implement over the Internet proper.

Considering the PC person is a port of a port, and with deadlines and evil corporations, there's the excuse... but losing co-op really is unacceptable, I've been waiting for it for 5 years...

According to what I heard, when Gearbox released Halo PC, Microsoft pretty much refused to give much any tech support because of the state of the game which was unplayable. I remember when one guy who received the Halo Beta from Gearbox, the game was unplayable even on the top of the line card, and when the game came out, he even said nothing was fixed in the game. Just sad. Anyways, Doom 3 is coming out this August and once that game comes out, Halo PC is bye bye.

How can you compare Doom 3 and Halo? Halo takes the Half-Life route of a good story and intelligent AI, Doom 3 will take the Doom route of mindless shooting. So everyone who wants tactics will get Halo PC and everyone who wants gunnishment will buy Doom 3.

One is a bad port and the other one was developed for PC. Thats how it is compared. Haven't Halo PC been ported by Microsoft's PC Gaming department I'll probably wouldn't have posted that negative remark, but thanks to Gearbox and the way how they handled the game, this is where it all comes down to. Just look at the post you made there about Randy's comments on the game, didn't sounded like he was really into the porting at all. Anyways, have fun here Goweb, you are a nice guy and I liked you as a debating friend, but all things come to an end.

I feel like most here, and I agree, no co-op for PC pisses me off. Bungie better put Halo2 on PC, and they better put on co-op... Maybe they thought there were'nt enough buttons?
