Phoenix is dead, long live Phoenix!
Is it?
Perhaps it might be because Lord Snakie, however, does leave the public forums, to venture into the domain of say, The Mirratord?
I am very intrigued by all your theories, they make sense, and even the parts that don't, seem to fit, and can be explained away. I think I'll use this thread to voice my opinions on both of the theories I've found written by you.
When reading the "Three Children of the Precursors" Theory, I was reminded of the last episode of Battlestar Galactica, and previous sections of the entire re-imagining, when the characters there, after escaping from the destruction wrought by their children (similarities abound between flood and cylons) decided to forgo all their technology and start from scratch, even if it the possibility remained that it would lead to the same path.
The "Acceleration of Evolution" Theory, seems to me to be less solid and more of a possibility than a probability, I believe you strayed a bit to far on some of your avenues of exploration, such as the purpose of the flood in precursor society, though the image of the Flood being a corpse disposal system was amusing. I say that you strayed too far down some of the avenues because you brought up points that could bring down part of your theory and therefore bring doubt upon your theory as a whole. My most specific question would be... How did the precursor access the memories stored within the gravemind? And wouldn't it be easy enough to insert a virus that could destroy the mind from one of the (presumably many) access points?
But yes, as with the other discrepancies I saw, that could be explained away, (so don't bother doing it).
Intriguing.
