I was checking out some of the old Halo 2 screenshot and as I was going through them I noticed something on the new battle rifle. It looks like some kind of east aisa wirting or somewhere along the lines of that.

My thought; either it's just an easter egg (which is kinda of cool) or it may have something to do with the plot. Maybe the game will have a level in China or Japan, or maybe it involes the Forrunners (Could they have been involved in Aisa in acient times).

Check out the link above and go to screenshot nember two. The one with a close up of MC holding the new battle rifle. It's dead center, you can't miss it.

Part of the writing states the size of the bullet the Battle Rifles so the user would know what type of ammo it needs.

From Bungie.org FAQ:

[Q] Hey, does it say 'RAT' or 'KAT' on the side of the gun in that Halo 2 screenshot?
[A] Neither one. The screenshot in question, a still from the Halo 2 Announcement trailer, shows the Master Chief holding a new assault rifle, with some chinese and english text along the side. The first english (or, more accurately, german) word, as can be seen here (thanks, Storm Singer) reads 'Kal' - short for 'Kaliber'. This has been confirmed by sources within Bungie. (The Chinese, for what it's worth, translates to 'Monkey King' - a Google search will turn up more information about this subject than most sane minds can handle.)

Hey I know you guys dont really care or already know but I think the person at bungie who designs the guns is Japanese/Chinese, not sure. So that would exlpain why that is on the gun.

Well first off, on the documentary its some white guy. Second, I doubt that ONE person is in charge of designing, rendering, animating, decision making, etc of the guns. Finally, no that would not explain it. Just because someone might be asian doesn't explain the reasoning for putting chinese/japanese characters on the Battle Rifle....it may have something to do with it, but stating that the sole cause/purpose of it is someone's race is just plain ignorant.

Wo man. Just offering my opinion on a matter. Chill out. I made a mistake. The person I was thinking of is the person that draws the characters. You really, really need to just sit down, take a nap, and when you get up, slam your head into some cold water. Just chill man, dont need to get all worked up on a opinion.
