The Most Obvious Use for the "X" Button

MALSH

Dude, Pimps at Sea is like Halo, going 30 knots in a harbour, being chased by clippers and Man-o-war. And the Man-o-war are firing.

Simply threaten the server's family, it'll work at least twice as hard. I have found this to be a benificial tactic when used in conjunction with AutoCAD (Which has the highest crash/ost ratio of any program in the history of ever, weighing in with it's $5000 price tag).

Since I started threatening my computer, I only lose half of my work when I forget to save!

That was four words, if you count the period.

But then the Soul would over-load, what with banning all the second accounts that everyone would create, and it would have to ban.

Plus, the collateral damage would be excessive. With my plan, everyone wins!

Well, except the server. The server would be woking like it had a gun to it's head, which isn't a bad alternative, now that I think of it... If it has no family, that is.

Of course, you could set your AutoSave for 1 minute intervals, which is pretty much required with the crappy program that is AutoCAD. Stupid Autodesk, they just keep on making the program worse; R14 was perfect...

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I think that Achronos tried this a long, long time ago.

Sam Fisher: Give me some intelligence or you'll be pushing up daisies in a cemetery full of guys just like you.
Hostage: I don't have any intelligence!
Sam: He he. You just called yourself stupid.

A worthier, new nobody.

Do menacing glares work or does it have to be an outright threat?

Although I have little experience with computers crashing (I'm a smug Mac user), I find that the carrot-and-stick approach works best. Well, it did when trying to get downloads go faster when I used to have 56k. I'd talk soothingly, and give it encouragement whenever the download speed increased, and threaten it and even give it a few soft but firm smacks to get it back on track.

Or this whole thread could be a load of nonsense. Take your pick.

Well I haven’t seen the soul in awhile so it’s probably hungry by now.

It may be less effective, but it's more satisfying to threaten your PC with an untimely demise when it acts up don't you think?

And I'm going with the latter option :)

AutoSave is a piece of crap. I hit Ctrl + S after every few commands instead. You see, AutoSave comes in, and cancels the current command on me all the time. (I'm on AutoCAD 2000 here, sometime 2005 LT, which comletely sucks, the lost features are so almost not worth the $3000 price cut) So I'll be almost done whatever lengthy command I'm currently typing in (Like array, which has no GUI till 2000i) and it'll suddenly cancel oto save itself.
