In the end of the trailer Spartan 259 reports in, but there were only 150 Spartans. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

There were more than 150 cadets (children) initially considered for the Spartan-II Project. Obviously, some of them did not make it to and through the training, which would account for the higher Spartan number designation. Not entirely sure though. Here is another related thread.

Hope that helps. Check out the books, they are worth the read. : )

No, Spartan III's has letters associated with the numbers. This is probably a second class of Spartan II's that was trained after the first class. It is known that the Spartan II program did not stop after the first class, just as for when the second class was done we will have to find out. (pure speculation)

EDIT: Spartan-II Program Information - tells who survived, who is known, etc.

If I remember correctly there were several hundred spartan cadets. Not all made it through the augmentation process. Only 75 made I think

Spartan III's had a letter before their number, there were 150 candidates, 75 were selected, and only about 30 survived augmentation.

Just send me a FR if you want to play.

I play any playlist, and most customs, unless your version of infection sucks.

Before he was a spartan, John [117] was still called 117 by Halsey. When he was six, and still just a candidate. All the number refers to is their number as candidates, not as full Spartan-IIs, as the number was assigned before they even were aware of the program.

Look! A distraction!

While only that number were taken, more may have been considered. Perhaps each person was given a number once they were initially considered, but the numbers were never adjusted when the cadets were selected.
