Subject: H3 Legendary Ending = Reach?

Very unlikely, but I noticed that the planet like object after the credits during the legendary ending in Halo 3 looks a lot like the planet at the end of the Reach trailer.
Who knows, but just a thought.

I thought it looked similar too but I think it's just a coincidence.

Guys, you should at least pay attention to the announcement video. It's a prequel.

Stfu. Anyways it most likely is. And for some reason people out there were RETARDED and didn't think Bungie would make another game EVEN THOUGH the legendary ending totally showed that there would be a new game. I mean, MASTER CHIEF FLOATING TOWARDS A MYSTERIOUS PLANET. WOW, I DOUBT THAT WILL CONTINUE.

All I have to say really is; I knew it. And I'm god damn happy about it.

  • 06.01.2009 1:33 PM PDT

Look, the planet even had the same "sunrise" effect as it did in the H3 legendary ending. Bungie's telling us something here.

There's a word for what I am, but I can't pronounce it.

BFA, CCS - olde and bony & one minute musings.

While it may look like it, the possibility of the Halo 3 ending planet being Reach is very small, unless John did a little time travel (which is also a small yet possible possibility).

Contribute something or don't post at all maybe? I was stating something I noticed, thats all.

Grow up.

nope reach is the planet where the master chief was posted at before halo:ce we will be seing more spartans for sure on this upcoming game lets just hope its not another halo wars :(

  • 06.01.2009 1:35 PM PDT

I'm sure it's just a coincidence. Unless that Half-of-a-ship you see floating in the final cutscene isn't Chief's.

Doesn't the Halo storyline between 1 and 3 only last about a month?

I'm pretty sure that it's still there, even if it was glassed.

My bet is that the Spartans meet up again, it would tie Halo off pretty well.

But if you listen to the trailer.. it says something about a "rip in space, time rip" something along those lines.. so who is to say master chief has not gone back in time.. knowing the out come of the future.. etc

It is possible that the Chief warped to reach when he went through the portal. Maybe the "cities" on the unknown planet are actually giant glass craters?

The covenant travel through slipspace rips, it's just them.

yeah, someone posted above about the 'rip in space' thing, it seems plausible to me, but I might have overlooked something...

I think reach takes place before Halo 1, near the Halo wars era.

It takes place just before Halo:CE. At the beginning of Halo:CE, Keyes had just escaped Reach with the Chief on-board.

Halo Reach is not a continuation of Halo 3. The planet in Halo Reach does not have a BLUE NEBULA next to it. /thread.

....Ummm why CAN'T it be Reach at the end of the Legendary Ending??? The planet is "Glassed" not "pulverized.... the body of the planet would still exist.... but just be a very "Dead Reach". It didn't disappear. And I do believe that the Legendary Ending was a teaser for Halo: Reach.

I thought of this too. The craters in the Teaser are similar to the "cities" on the planet at the end of Halo 3.

Instead of calling everyone a retard, you should know your stuff first. Halo: Reach cannot be AFTER Halo 3, since Reach is glassed just before the events of Halo CE. Why wouldn't humanity reclaim it? BUT why would their still be war on a glassed planet? War is over, so we have a prequel.
PS trailer mentions since destroyed ships and stations.

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

I thought the same, but then I saw the title 'Reach'.

i'm awesome

It's Bungie's use of symbolism.

The inclusion of that planet was never there to assure a Halo 4, but that the franchise will go on, the planet as an image telling us there will be another game.

Reach is that game.
