"Die? Didn't you know? Spartans never die."

Please consider the following theory. I don't believe in this theory- I believe Halo: Reach is a prequel- but I just thought about it, and I came up with a time travel theory.

Well, if you had the guts to actually get the Marathon Achievement while doing it on Legendary, after the messages, you get a brief message with Medicant Bias. Sometimes he'll say I SEE YOU. Also, he claims that he realizes that betraying the Forerunners was wrong, and that he would like to atone himself, and help the Chief. I think he helped the Chief by (suggesting he controls the Ark) used the Ark's Portal to send the Chief back in time, and using his knowledge of the future to quickly neutralize the Covenant.

Remember, this is all a theory and is no way true...yet.

Also, hilarious quote:

True. Now that I think about it having the -blam!- beat out of you with a pool ball in a tube sock by your degenerate pimp is the better choice.

.

I seriously doubt it. inserting a time paradox into Halo would definitely help everything....

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

For my gamertag, look up "Ghoulishtie"

I wouldnt think so.

No, if he wanted to stop the Covenant he wouldn't have sent the Chief to Reach. Reach was the lowest point in the war (the loss of the UH and death of the prophets I would argue make the battles of Earth actually better) Medicant would have sent him back to the time just after the first activation to wipe out the prophets before they ever evolved.

Sarcasm - The greatest form of wit.

Maybe, just maybe, the planet at the end of Halo 3, is Reach after its destroyed ? Its a possiblity. Then again Halo: Reach will probably follow the story of Reach GETTING destroyed rather than after, but you never know.

Have you read the book? I guess you did not read it.

If Master Chief did go back in time to Reach, then there would be two Master Chiefs running around where one is not known.

Read the book first. Halo Reach is a prequel, not a sequel to the Halo Series.

Think:
What would the Forerunners do? Would they want to see a man in armor destroying alien species they are trying to save? No, they'd pull out a Giant Laser and kill him.

Yes because an extinct species could really do that...

REACH would make no sense as a time travel destination. REACH was a loss and since in the end Humanity wins you wouldn't mess with the timeline.

1. I finished Fall of Reach 2 months ago.
2. I know it's a prequel.
3. I'm just thinking about the time travel theory, and submitted my own.
4. This isn't China. I can actually post my opinion without getting shot.

I have read the books, but Master Cheif left just as Reach was beginning to be "Glassed" meaning the two Cheifs would never meet. But im being silly here, there probably wont be any Time Travelling in Halo: Reach.

^^^LOL

But seriously something like that would ruin the story for me, it's just too damn stupid.
I'm not saying they couldn't do it if they wanted to, they can do whatever they like with the story, make master chief wake up and realise it was all a dream...

Oh sorry, I thought the after was a before. >.>

Yes, Humanity did win, but at what cost? John lost friends: Sam, Johnson, Miranda, and other Spartans.

Reach would make a logical destination because Reach was one of the most important headquarters for the UNSC and the main supplier of military and civilian spacecraft. HIGHCOM, FLEETCOM and the UNSC Marine Corps had headquarters on Reach, as well as many primary ONI bases, which included CASTLE Base. It was the most populated planet after Earth in the UNSC. It was a huge loss for the Humans.

  • 06.01.2009 2:20 PM PDT

Since when are the Forerunner trying to save the Covenant? The humans are the descendants of the Forerunner, they could care less about the Covenant.

I wouldn't be so sure, the idea of time travel is certainly absurd enough that another plot device could be created. However, time travel in itself is a terrible plot device filled with a myriad of holes. I doubt it will be used.

A Beacon for the Deluded

It would be incredibly awesome if this was true. I doubt it, but it would solve the problem of explaining the Legendary ending, which so far, no future project seems to touch.

I also noticed that at the end of the trailer, Reach looks strikingly similar to another planet you see...when it is silloeted by the sun.

It also lead to the discovery of the ring, destruction of the largest covenant fleet and saved the lives of evey single Spartan. And a victor shouldn't change the time line, regardless of your losses meddling with it could result in you losing.

I thought it looked very similar as well. Though, I don't believe the time travel theories to be true.

xD, now that you think about it, Chief's only friend that's alive is Cortana.

Now on topic: Well, you know if he does screw that alternate timeline up, he can just go back to his own time.xD

Sorry for the lame response. It's just that I'm not really committed to this theory. I just believe it's a prequel.
