I understand this is a prequel, I really do. However, I do have a question--> is this a straight continuation of Halo 3?

Look at the teaser trailer and then remember back to the legendary ending to halo 3. They look quite similar. Could the masterchief perhaps traveled back through time (easily explained through some sci-fi stuff) and that's where the prequel starts?

Looks like the same thing from a different perspective.
Sorry if old.

ODST Romeo

So according to you there will be two Master Cheifs on Reach?

"We sleep peaceably in our beds, because rough men stand ready to visit violence upon those that wish to do us harm."

"Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of all those who threaten them."

Ok so they both look like planets? I mean seriously people I've heard the Legendary planet compared to ever other planet. Just because it's a sphere does not mean they're the same planet.

Time Travel would have changed the time line, since there's no record of him at the battle nor any record of traveling back in time being possible in Haloverse I'd say time travel is unlikely.

When you have slipspace travel, you typically can have time travel. And while it's undocumented, this isn't like they intentionally meant to do it. He was floating ion space for a while, weird things can happen in space if my sci-fi knowledge is correct.

And while I realize they're both planets, the reason why I thought it to be the same is because well, look at how they reveal it--> with the same exact way they ended Halo 3, which was an obvious lead up for a sequel.

---> While this is high, high, speculation without much basis now, this could be a lead in for marathon---> alternate halo timeline. Granted though, this isn't my point at all here.

Paradox much?

The blue ones stick.

Calling it a prequel and then claiming it to be a continuation contradicts itself. A time paradox is a lot less likely because having 2 master chiefs in the universe at the same time would simply be too much awesome for the universe to handle.

Read the book Halo: First Strike and you will know just where, when, and how this game takes place. I instantly recognized it after hearing a Spartan talking on Reach.
