Subject: Halo: reach and the planet after halo 3

soloing legendary isn't that hard hehe...

After beating Legendary on Halo 3, Master Chief and Cortana are floating toward a planet like structure that looks similar to the planet seen in the Halo: Reach trailer. Could they be the same? Maybe this could be before or even after Master Chief arrives their. I am almost sure this planet has something to do with Halo: Reach because you have to beat Legendary just to even see the extra few seconds of the ending meaning that it has to hint something.

I am not saying Master Chief will be in Halo: Reach but I do think that planet is significant to Halo: Reach.

Edit: The one shown in the ending could be Reach but destroyed. why else would bungie but this random planet at the end of Halo 3? Also i have never read the books so this is just my guess.

Edit: You people are missing the point of this thread. The point of the thread is the possibility of 2 planets being the same. This is not a Master Chief obsession thread and i'm not trying to link Master Chief's storyline. This thread has nothing to do with Master Chief. I'm trying to say that the planet had to have hinted something and that it could have possibly been Reach. I never said it was actually Reach. Yes Reach was destroyed from what I've read but the planet shown looked lifeless which is why i'm saying it could be the destroyed reach. Also peole saying the planet looked artificial. Maybe it is an attempt to rebuild the planet i dont know. And to the person talking about how its bluish on the one master chief was floating to, its been some years since Reach was glassed so things could have changed. i'm just saying the planet had to hint something. Bungie didn't just throw it in the ending which is why i'm guessing it is linked to Reach. The planet may not be reach but it could still be linked to the upcoming game.

Sounds like a bunch of Justin Bieber wannabes in here. I bet you all wear skinny jeans too.

I'm still downloading my HD trailer for Halo: Reach, but from what I read in the books Reach aslpoded. It's gone, so unless that planet in the trailer isn't Reach, Master Chief won't be found in this game. However, he might still be a playable character seeing as Master Chief was on Reach right before the Covenant glassed it. (Read the book Halo: Fall of Reach)

No, No, NO!
Halo: Reach is before the trilogy. The legendary ending is at the end of the trilogy. By the time Halo 3 is over, Reach has just been a ball of plasma gas for a long time.
Also, the book Halo: The Fall of Reach is about Master Chief, so he will obviously be in it.

i never said master chief would be in it. look at the trailer for reach and the ending for halo 3. the planet seen at the end of halo 3 could be the destroyed Reach.

Master Chief was on Reach when it was attacked and destroyed. The Pillar of Autumn was the only ship to escape, made the blind jump and arrived at Halo.

Don't expect to play as Chief, expect to play an important role in getting the Autumn (with Chief) off the planet.

i love how people don't read the whole post. i never said anything about playing with master. in fact at the end of the post i said i am not saying master chief will be in the game.

No, No, No...stop adding 2 and 2 and getting 7. There is no connection. People have an unhealthy obsession with MC and try to connect parts of storylines to satisfy their urges.

This planet is Reach. Its set during the Fall of Reach (hence the relase date saying "falls") the planet at the end of H3 is something else, can we not talk about what we have seen and not a theory based on literally nothing ?

Monkey see, Monkey shoot.

Terry Pratchet - The Best.

I am just trying to get a hquality picture of both the halo3 planet and the reach planet. They do look similar but i am going to concentrate in the star systems if possible.

Can't do it, it is a teaser trailer and is too inaccurate....

I found my self drawing that the blueish cloud above the sun towards the left, is similar to that bluish cloud as the mc heads towards the planet.

But the Reach Trailer just seems to be a collection of what happend to the planet. We do'nt know if we are going to play as the team that went down to the planet only to get blown to pieces on the way down, and have the Covies chace after them into the forunner base.

Clutching at straws. I don't think any conclusion can be made off that trailer as there are too many inconsistancies to keep us guessing.

Don't be silly you people. Reach was glassed. Besides, the planet at the end of Halo 3 looks convincingly artificial, Reach is not.

Edit: Sorry, confused my explosions and big bombs :)

Still, Reach was an Inner Planet, and would not be anywhere near the edge of the galaxy where the Ark was located, and where the Master Chief was left stranded.

Don't be silly you people. Reach was destroyed AFTER it was glassed. In the book First Contact, a prototype planetary nuclear device was used to wipe out Reach along with a covenant armada in orbit. Reach was destroyed before the events occurred in Halo 3. Besides, the planet at the end of Halo 3 looks convincingly artificial, Reach is not.

Edit- changed again ^^

Yes Reach was glassed, but from that trailer we can tell nothing really. I don't think that the MC will appear in the game. Although....

Edit number 4001....

Well the ship could be between the ark and earth. Could be in a node point, like a Forunner base (you no the hopless hundreds of theorys) could be anything.

I think now, that we are making the mistake that halo 3 ending and the Reach planet thing are the same.

I get the feeling that reach, will tell the story, like the book The flood, from a differnt view to the master chief.

Perhaps Master Chief entered an alternate universe![/sarcasm]

SpartenElite, you do not want to know how many threads there are on an alternate universe..... some of them pretty convincing.

I just think it's ridiculous, that because they have shown a planet...it must be the same as the one at the end of Halo 3!! I mean, a planet is a planet. Reach is shown to have clouds, vegetation, water, before being shown to be glassed. The planet at the end of Halo 3 was shown to have artificial surface detail. It looks metallic and shiny. If anything, the planet at the end of Halo 3 is a shield world similar to Onyx. Someone get a picture and put them side to side and prove me wrong.

Edit: By the way, the Sun near Reach is orange/yellow. The sun near the planet at the end of Halo 3 is Blue/white. TAKE IT NOOBS :)

This absolutely, positively has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with Master Chief and the planet that we see at the end of Halo 3... This is BEFORE Halo: Combat Evolved. Please read the novels..

THERE IS NO LINK. im pretty sure Reach is in a different galaxy or whatever than the ark, because if reach really was that close to the ark we wouldve landed on the ark along tim ago. there theory ended.

As far as I remember reach has been partially glassed and the covenant were uncovering forerunner structures beneath the surface. I am pretty sure the covenant took the bomb of the surface where it later detonated in one of their fleets in the ghosts of onyx

If the Covenant was there they could have built around it whild uncovering the forunner structures. also a bluish glow was around the planet just as in the Reach trailer.

  • 06.01.2009 3:16 PM PDT

I was just thinking this when i read the update! Ive read all the books and the planet at the end looked metal looked silvery and Reach was glassed by the covenant and it was a forerunner planet and under all the soil and earth and such maybe that's what it looked like after the covenant got done with it. God it would be awesome if Master Chief returned.

Um you ever think that instead of the ship arbiter and MC was on going out together that maybe it split in half and went in different areas of the galaxy MC going near Reach and Arbiter going to Earth.

yes but this is years before halo 3. the whole area could have changed because of the covenant.
