Remember those who have fallen.

who is mendicant bias?

And i still believe the planet is Onyx, algthough there is a small possiblity that it is reach, however, the two stars are different so probably not.

The thing is...how come the chief didn't get back to earth? He went through the same portal as everyone else right?

lol haha, well maybe;)

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

No. If it is, then I am leaving Bungie forever.

Reach was glassed, except for a very small portion. Therefore, it wouldn't be there. And if he somehow travled backwards in time (I'm getting really sick of people saying that), then the whole Halo Universe would be screwed up. There'd be two SPARTAN-117's. That's just dumb.

Pay attention!

Mendicant Bias is the Forerunner A.I. Construct that betrayed the Forerunners and joined the Gravemind, in the final battle against Offensive Bias, he fragmented himself and was sent to different locations throughout the Galaxy.

The Portal doesn't just go to one location, Bias presumably sent John to the safety of the Rainbow World.

It can't be Onyx because its remains are in Slipspace, the Legendary Ending isn't in Slipspace.

Bringing you lame jokes, social awkwardness and the occasional good idea since 2008

What if it is Reach, but so far into the future that the Humans have been able to find some way of making glassed planets habitable? Then it could be any human colony.

Ask yourself that again. You might see the answer in front of you...

It would take millions of years for Humanity to advance to a technology Teir where they could terraform planets. And even if they could, they'd have thousands of other colonies so Reach would be redundant.

If by next-gen you mean crappy, dark and colorless, I agree. It doesnt look next-gen at all.

If its so far in the future what the hell does it matter then? This game is a prequel.

How do you know this?
And i'm presuming the rainbow world is where MC is drifting, so what do you think that planet is?

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Unlike many, I read the Terminals.
What do I think what planet is? The Rainbow World?

I'm not 100% sure but the Precursors were the only race to outscale the Forerunners in technology, only to mysteriously disappear.
The Rainbow Worlds are presumably a safe heaven for the Precursors. And the Didact (a Forerunner) was intent in "following in Their footsteps".

Remember those who have fallen.

Ahhh now i see, so i'm guessing all of this information is scattered throughout each terminal right?

And the planet I was on about is the one MC is drifting towards in the legendary ending to halo 3

I think The Time travel thing is out of the picture its just wrong they really cant do that due to the Books and the storyline but...in the books there were some Survivors Underground so they could have survived and rebuilt obviously I dont know how Cheif Possibly could have actually floated so far that he was in Reach's Orbit, and Oh yeah who says that the Legendary ending even ment anything even if it was Reach doesent mean it means anything, just cause you see a planet doesent mean chiefs gonna land on it lol...

yes good point, but, why would they have a "cliff hanger" ending like that for no reason? Bungie obviously have something planned i think

Yeah I kno it would be Odd to do that But Just cause its there doesent mean it actually means *anything* but I'm sure it does mean something I just really cant assume anything but due to the fact the books pretty much ended with *the Ghost of onyx* Bunge can do whatever the heck they want with it.

Remember those who have fallen.

yeah i suppose lol, and yeah it would be odd to do that, but as it's only a trilogy i doubt there will a sequel to the game, although they could have an add on for halo 3 or something? Probz not tho cuz they r workin on reach and odst, however, i reckon we will find out more about this planet in the legendary ending of halo 3, when we play odst and reach, i bet all the answers lie within those games

Remember those who have fallen.

yeah thats a good point tbh, and for all we know, they might have just put that legendary ending there as an easter egg, kinda like the one on Halo CE: wiv sergeant johnson n the elite huggin n then dying together, even tho johnson is in both the other games, but, like you said, lets just wait and find out for good:)

  • 06.15.2009 11:14 AM PDT

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

But Halo CE had many Johnsons...

when he went through the portal and opened a wormhole and sent him back in time

Theres no possible way this game ties into halo 3 except as a prequel. I dont think people are paying attention to the text in the beginning of the trailer that says "From the beginning you'll know the end". Wouldnt that mean you'll know the beginning and end of the Planet Reach?

Stop being so damn logical!

Why do you people continue with these pathetic attempts of making people believe that it's timetravel? People were saying the same thing at the end of Halo 3 and they were proven wrong on many occasions. Bungie themselves do not like timetravel, it's already CONFIRMED as a prequel, and that would be a very dumb change to the Halo story. Bungie would lose tens of thousands of fans. You people WANT there to be timetravel so you try and make yourselves believe it and get other people to do the same so you can believe yourselves even more. No matter how many times the timetravel theories are proven wrong and the facts are placed on the table you will still deny them and coninue to believe the timetravel theories are true.

  • 06.15.2009 2:10 PM PDT

Let me clarify what i meant. Im not saying that Chief time traveled backwards. Im simply saying that we dont know exactly how much time elapsed between him entering cyrogenic sleep and the frigate floating towards the unknown planet.
