Everybody that is complaining. GoW 2 was $60. If you actually baught that craptacular game you paid $30 for a really bad story, and $30 for Horde. GoW 2 multiplayer is just cruel and unusual punishment, why would you pay for that.

That what it was back then.

However, the added modes and content made it into a full fledge game.

It's the same models, the same enviroment from a previous game, the same enemies, 4 hours worth of different levels, 3 new multiplayer maps, a different gameplay mode, and its called a new game? :(.

I dont think it's the same models. I havent seen the ODST models that were depicted on the project site. Same environments? I don't think so. Not in the LEAST bit. Same buildings? possibly. But other than that, I haven't seen anything else in H3 that is in here. Same enemies, well that goes without saying. 21 total MP maps, not four. The different gameplay mode is new to the franchise.

So yeah, it's a new GAME and not an add-on. Makes perfect sense to me.

But this is different. The only new thing in this game is the campaign, which is only an expansion, not a full campaign.

ODST for life

Ya that is just stupid, I cant see Bungie allowing Microsoft to screw them again and let them do this. I am one of the biggest halo finds you will find and this just ruined all the excitement I had for this game. Very disappointing

Wow Bungie. Your saying for this game shouldn't be "stay clean" it should say "stay classy"

which in this case you surely are not. 60 dollars? how the hell do you justify that? and don't tell us you're getting all these maps... what if you already bought the damn maps??????

Jesus, the game didn't even impress at E3. It was met by one big collective yawn.

A pity, that bungie cannot even price their own game. M$$ seems quite determined to milk the cash cow.

It comes with 21 new mp maps? If it does, I will change my stance, but from what I understood, it comes with 3 new ones.

I am wondering when the last time Kotaku got things messed up, but then again. The controller is worth about £30 new itself.....so a collecters for $90 seems to be in their price range if they are packaging a game and controller. It just, what is a boxed expansion, pretty pricy

Was going to buy it anyway for the Mythic map, I though why pay twice....but now....
why pay at all.... Looks good. But I really doubt i would pay £40 for that game...

A campaign I thought I read is only going to be +/- 5 hours. That's a rip off. I have always admired Bungie and felt they cared about their fans but this is robbery. I know its likely all Microsoft's doing. It's like they know people will pay whatever amount they decide to charge so why not price gouge.

Everyhting I read made me increasingly excited about the game until I read on some game-site that the price was going to be $60. I hope Bungie responds to this. Did hey decide at the 11th hour(unlikely) that ODST is going to be a 10 hour game instead of an expansion? Or are they going to defend this with the whole inclusion of the maps argument which to me is BS. I guess we'll see.

Be classy

Bepo, you're right in a sense that it comes with the other 3 maps missing in the current map pack. However, the total MP count is 21.

To those who are wishing the game ill, you are a bit late. The hype has already gotten to most to all of the public. So, wish it ill because of the price all you want, because the way I'm seeing it, the game was not met by a yawn at all.

  • 06.01.2009 3:56 PM PDT

Go Rams and Missouri!

3 New maps - $10
3-5 hour campaign - $20
Firefight mode - $20
Total - $50

I guess the extra $10 is Microsoft charging for maps we already have.

  • 06.01.2009 3:58 PM PDT

!

I expected it to be priced $60 after I read the features on the project page.

I don't mind.I will buy it. =D

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Are we really surprised? It is a Halo title, with the promise of a survival mode Halo style. We have been craving something like that since Halo: Combat Evolved.

$60? $800? No matter, I'm getting this game.

I apologize for my anger, I am just highly disappointed. I do not wish the game ill, I like bungie, and that is the reason I am annoyed and angry. If I did not care, I would not be angry. I just feel that it is not worth that pricetag in the least, and I believe that it is more MS's doing than bungies.

I am not at all aiming that remark towards you. I think we're all a little frustrated at this. None the less, everything that is being included with the game is totally worth the price.

They did originally say that they planned not price game at full price but rather more like an expansion. So that is a little disappointing but seeing that they packed so much into the game, it might be worth it. Still it is important note that that it includes 17 multiplayer maps that many have already bought for $30+The price you paid for the maps on the original Halo 3 disc.
