They got their numbers when they were brought in for training. They had their number all the way through. No way that would work seeing as 150 was the last number given out at the BEGINNING.

In other words, Spartan 259 survived/made it into that 150 limit.

I really think the one on the left is an Elite (most likely the Halo 3 arbiter). My reasoning is simply how he is posed. His legs are mounted firm with knees bent. I find it very unlikely that a spartan no matter how big would have posture like that. However, it's always a possibility.

It looks like his knees are bent? I can not really tell if they are bent. I see it more of a possibility being Sam, because he was bigger than Master Chief. I am assuming Master Chief is in the middle.

Recruitment threads results in me not joining. All they consist of is copy and paste and sticking your name in it. Have a nice day.

I'm all for making friends, not enemies. You can find me on the Halo 3 Community Forums mostly. I love to help others, so if you have a question or having trouble with something, message me. I will join if your group pops out to me or interests me. My old GamerTag is Black St33l if you are confused who this is. Thanks for reading!

Yes, but weren't the Elites still part of the Covenant at this time? So it is either that this is a lone Elite that isn't like the rest, all Elites weren't part of the Covenant at this time, or it's just a bulky Spartan that has bulky armor. Please forgive me if I am wrong with the above, I am very drowsy today and my focus is not 100% on the things I do.

Elites were responsible for burning Reach. They certainly were part of the Covenant. And there's no indication that any Elites switched sides and considering Humanities hate for them I'd doubt they'd even accept a defector.

That's what I am thinking but I wasn't sure because I haven't read the books in a while. Thank you for confirming this.

i say wait until more info comes out to start judging things cause at this point the only clear thing is the title and Spartans are involved somewhere.

That's not necessarily true, though. We honestly don't know how many subjects were originally considered for the project. Dr. Halsey visited John and inspected his abilities first hand. Who is to say that she or operatives under her employ didn't do the same, and determine that certain candidates were not right for the program? Just because there were only 150 children originally chosen for the project doesn't mean that there wasn't a larger pool to choose from. As we know, John was designated "Number 117" before he was even conscripted, so it is very possible that this Spartan did make it into the group under these circumstances.

Sam is Dead way before Reach if you've read the book.
as for the others...Possibly.

Sam died on his first Mjolnir op. Long before Reach.

Happily married to Fatal_Coin_Vest since July 1st, 2009.

Thank you, Captain K Mart.

I'm convinced the one on the left is not a spartan (despite my wanting it to be). It's got really thick thighs and an extremely skinny torso. You can look up any picture of the Arbiter and you'll see those characteristics.

dude..........nice. you should get reconz now

  • 06.01.2009 5:46 PM PDT

It's not Hip-Hop, its Electro.... prick.

Sam was already dead by the time of the battle of reach. He died in 2525 when they were all 14 years old. I agree with your other predictions on the silouettes though

Suck it Red!

idk, I don't think the Chief will be in Reach since he left on The Pillar of Automn, but i think you are right about the others. I think I am going to read the book again and then guess.

  • 06.01.2009 5:49 PM PDT

you are correct :) the cheifs squad but the chief wont be in this game if it follows fall of reach story line

They act all big and tough when their on camera with their friends and their guns. But when you break into their house in the middle of the night and stick a gun barrel in their face. They cry like babies and and piss their pants.

I really doubt two of those are the MC and Linda, mostly because they were on the orbital station for the bit of the fight they were in. And even then Linda was critically wounded and both Linda and the MC escaped on the Pillar of Autumn.

I just want to point something out. in the Spartan-II Project, there were about 300 applicants. Out of those, only 150 can pass correct?

You have to remember that the spartans that passed weren't all in numerical order tags (Example: Spartans 001-150 passed).

In fact, I believe somewhere in "The Fall of Reach" it even indicates that. So the exceeding of the 150 limit can not be used on this spartan's tag. I find it believable so far.

sorry bud-but there were only 150 children canadiates for spartan 2 class and they chose 75- and 38 or so of that 75 survived the operation to become spartans

May I remind people that Bungie never said this game was a prequal. While we've all come to simply assume it, if the master chief really is going to reach at the end of Halo 3, then couldn't this simply be where we left off? Could that be Arby on the side simply fighting with the spartans? Maybe now that the Humans have pushed the covenant out of the Halo rings, maybe they wanna take back which was once rightfully theirs in the universe. As for the other characters maybe they are spartans. Maybe not. If you look at it from a completely different perspective at the end of Halo 3 almost every main character that fights in the game dies except Arby and the Chief. Thus, maybe the spartans meet up where they once let off.

Or maybe it really is a prequel. Just trying to get the minds a sterring =-)

I totally agree because I have read all the books and the descriptions match and if you read the new books you find out that he was called M.I.A because he was on a mission to see if reach was safe again

Have you read the novels? Reach was glassed. If it takes place on Reach, which is a safe bet, then it takes place before Halo: CE, making it a prequel.

The planet was glassed, I dont think we would be interested in retaking a hulking planet of glass with no atmosphere.
