so, like all of you, I want so badly to believe that these are the fabled Blue team of the great book The Fall of Reach. However, I believe that Bungie is taking this opportunity to try something new while also telling that particular part of the story the way they wanted to. Imagin with me for a moment. The book was NOT a Bungie written book. It does follow and is a part of the universe, but not particularly the universe seen from the eyes of Bungie's Halo video game franchise. So MY speculation is that they are going to tell it a little different perhaps, but it will be their version of the events. Second, the amazingly complex little silhouette that we are all examining with a magnifying glass fit to burn down an ant city. My thought is that perhaps as Bungie has said in the past, Master Chief's story arch was concluded with Halo 3 (as sad as I find that to be) and perhaps this is a new type of game from Bungie (remember all of the updates where they said that they were working on NEW game ideas and stories...) So, how about this...the figures pictured will be maybe...Spartan II class 2, or maybe Marines...but either way, what if Bungie is trying there hand at a game inspired by the biggest competition of theirs COD4. Or Return to Castle Wolfenstein of the original XBOX. What if each of those silhouettes is that of a certain class of playable character (left to right-heavy weapons, stealth, assault, close-range, sniper). To me, something similar to this line of thinking would fit perfectly with Bungie's repeated promise of something new and different, yet still falling within our beloved Halo universe. It would also open the door for some new game play mechanics from Bungie, and with them at the helm, I trust them with my favorite science fiction universe.
