it appears you have fallen into a sarchasm...
its the gap between someone making a sarcastic comment, and you picking up on that sarcasm...

There were, you just never got you hands on it.

Just as there were ARs in Halo 1 and 3 but not 2.

There has always been a Spartan Laser, it was just never in use in Halo: CE or Halo 2.

Go Rams and Missouri!

Just because the weapon wasn't thought up until the then doesn't mean it wasn't there.

And the only plothole I know of is the ODST drop pods going right on the carrier, when there were none shown in Halo 2.

Marine Corps.
Semper Fi.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

There were no Spartans Lasers that we, as the Master Chief, saw. Just because you don't see something, doesn't mean it isn't there.

It's not a plot hole at all.

Might have been new or in testing and they gave em to ODSTs on a high risk mission who knows?

If that's a plot hole then what is Halo Wars :P?

I think the going explanation is that Master Chief wasn't always upgraded with the best weapons seeing as he was constantly out of contact with UNSC command.

But hey, would you rather not have it?

It was because of the angle shown, and how far out the camera had to go so you could see BOTH of the ships going through slipspace.

ODST drop pods are realativly small compared to warships. You couldn't see them because they were only about a pixel large.

Just because you didn't use one in Halo 2 doesn't mean they did not exist.

Really, you think they design a weapon from the ground up in 2 weeks?

Terry Pratchet - The Best.

You were pretty much in slipspace when the pods came

That and were fighting brutes, the Covenant Civil war didn't start until way later, so technically there should be no brutes

STORY'S REASON: master chief was in such a hurry to kill the covenant he forgot his trusty spartan laser and left it at home.

REAL REASON: bungie said: "hey, i made up a new eapon for halo 3, shame halo and halo 2 were made before this otherwise it would've been great".

One of the first 20 to beat Halo 3 on Mythic (Solo Legendary All Skulls On), in the later half I'm guessing
I notice time that light has reflection for, like the rainy magic of nobody else on a lovely day.

That's not a plot hole. Last I checked none of the games revolve around the spartan laser.

Actually Brutes exsited before the civil war, however they should not be in the elite armor and you should be fighting elites as well as brutes

the pillar of autumn wasn't a frigate known for carrying too many weapons if i can remember correctly, and they kind of fled away in the first place, so you only have the weapons available in the pillar of autumn in halo: CE.

As for halo 2, the same thing applies pretty much, considering you are fighting mainly away from earth.

But another explanation is that in 2001 or whatever they didn't think of the Spartan Laser yet, and they came up with explanations for everything to cover stuff up, and adding them to halo 3:ODST is just awesome.

Even if it was a plot hole, who cares, it will only make the game better.

Not really, judging from the perspective of the ODSTs dropping down, and then comparing it to the close of camera angle of the In Amber Clad while it's right practically under the carrier, you can see that you don't have the appropriate angle to view any ODSTs dropping down, and by the time you get the shot of the city in its whole in Halo 2, the shockwave is already enveloping it thus obscuring any view of miniscule drop pods.
