Subject: So the Halo 3 Legendary Ending was actually this?

As I bet all of you have seen the Legendary ending of Halo 3, you'll remember there's a ship flying closs to the darkside of a planet in complete turmoil. Well, as from this trailer, we see a similar ship (which I'm assuming is the same ship) and Reach, which is completely in turmoil on the darkside. Huh, what a coincidence right? So all along the Legendary ending was never MC's ship or a cliffhanger for Halo 4, but instead, it was a glimpse into what we now know as Halo: Reach (which I'm stoked for)

Very clever Bungie, kudos.

Of course this is just my speculation, but it makes sense I believe.

I sincerely doubt it. Especially since Reach takes place before the events of halo.

Halo: CE began with the Pillar Of Autumn fleeing the destruction of Reach, hence this game will lead into the beginning of Halo.

That or the MC time traveled back to Reach. <--I really hope this is not the case.

Though if you disregard the MC being in that ending at all, then yes, it makes sense.

Maybe Master Cheif did go back to the past? Ever have that in mind?

Long live the Last Refuge!

No way since Reach was A. Glass, B. Abandoned by the Covenant, and C. MC already rounded up all the SPARTANs that survived the battle of Reach after he got off Installation-04.

hmmm i dont think so, do you know how the story goes? reach its been destroyed for years before halo 3 that was the biggest and more important planet for the unsc and that was the biggest attack of the covenant they killed almost every spartan in reach

  • 06.01.2009 4:42 PM PDT

it might be reach because at the end of halo3 the planet is blue and reach was glassed so its a possiblity.

Halo: Reach takes place even before the first halo. If you guys come across the Halo novels read them. The first book is called Halo: The Fall of Reach. Its all about John (Spartan 117) and how he came to be along with most spartans. Also on Reach is the first time John comes into contact with Captain Keyes. I doubt MC is gonna be in this game. But I am guessing you are gonna play as other spartans. Since on Reach most of the spartans were killed here.

Recruitment threads results in me not joining. All they consist of is copy and paste and sticking your name in it. Have a nice day.

I'm all for making friends, not enemies. You can find me on the Halo 3 Community Forums mostly. I love to help others, so if you have a question or having trouble with something, message me. I honestly don't care if Master Chief is in it or not. I'm just extremely happy that our overlords are making a new Halo game that's in the Halo Universe :D Thanks Bungie!

So I'm guessing that's why in the trailer it had the guy trying to call one of the spartans and there is a dead response. I just realized that this was referring to the first book!

"When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade. Make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons! What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager! Make life rue the day it thought it could give EL1TE SUPR3MACY lemons! Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons! I'm gonna get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

That was a full UNSC vessel with a breach in the hull, not half a ship like the one the Chief is in. Not to mention the dark side of the Legendary planet was riddled with glowing Forerunner glyphs, unlike Reach which only has light sources coming from UNSC encampments.

Master Chief was not sent back in time, that's ridiculous.

Owners of the Katana: A place for those who have a Katana or over 1000GS in Halo 3.

Somewhere out there... in an alternate reality... Marty decided to stay in the ad jingle business, bringing about an age of amazingly orchestrated Pampers commercials.

I wouldn't think so, because Reach fell a long time before Halo 3.

Hope to someday work at this place! :)

It's clearly not a new planet (Radios in the Trailer... dead givaway...) so it can't be the same one in the end of Halo 3
And Reach is within the known universe, MC was outside of the milkyway, where the Ark blew. So unless he hit a major time/space wormhole, it can't be Reach in the end of Halo 3.

You misunderstood. The OP is saying that the Legendary ending had nothing to do with Halo 3 or MC, but instead of it being an ending at all, it was a teaser trailer that we didn't know about.

The spherical object seen at the end of Halo 3 is more likely to be a shield world than anything else. As others have said, the events of Fall of Reach took place long before Halo 3.

Signatures are for squares.

No, this takes place before Halo CE.
