Subject: Halo: Reach... They DO land on the planet with other SPARTAN's??

Looking at the backround of the forum banner, I see Master Chief, The Arbiter, (I think),and 3 other SPARTAN's. Now I have heard from many people, that 3 other SPARTAN's survived besides Master Chief. One, a women who was a very talented sniper, now look at the last person to the right, what are they holding? Yes, a Sniper Rifle. I also heard another girl who could run very fast survived, and if you look in the middle of Master Chief and The Arbiter, you see a woman spartan who looks pretty fit to me. I am not sure of the last SPARTAN, all I know is it is a Male, and he was a Captain or something of the sort ( Correct me if mistaken) So is Master Chief going to land on the planet with these other SPARTAN's and somewhere along the lines contact the Arbiter, when he is flying back through space with the other elites, to come and save them or pick them up? Seems to fall into place to me.

You can't be sure its the MC, and it's definitely not the Arbiter, he doesn't become the Arbiter until after the first Halo is destroyed.

DARN!, I didn't reserve fast enough, well. It looks to me as so, I heard that SPARTAN's named lynda (Really good with sniper?) Fred, (Who knows) and Maria? (Can run fast?) are alive.

And to post above me, Doesn't Halo:ODST take place before hand, but this is after? This is not ODST it is the next game.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

Halo: Reach isn't a continuation of Halo 3. I guess it could be. It would be kind of neat if it was, but I think Bungie is angling it towards the Fall of Reach with was before Halo: CE as well as (I think) Halo Wars.

Halo 3: ODST takes place between Halo 2 and 3 (I'm pretty sure).

So this is based after the book? Sweet but I don't know

Giggity Giggity Goo - Quagmire

The Chief wasn't on Reach on the book, he and Linda(the sniper) and another guy(dies) are on a different mission. Fred is the leader of the mission on Reach, and he has a lot of spartans with him, but most of them die. Hes got Will and Kelly, and Dr. Halsey, and the Arbiter would still be a elite in golden armor at the time. So unless you get to play as some elite attacking Reach, hes just there for the picture. My guess that that is Fred, Kelly, William, some other spartan, and a elite you might get to play like in Halo 2 for a separate campaign.

the spartans still alive are named John(Master Chief), Fred(the guy to the right of Master Cheif, and just happens to be the second best in everything), Linda(The Sniper), Kelly(The Fastest Spartan), and also Spartan Gray Team, but they are deep behind Covenant lines. Fred, Linda, and Kelly were trapped in the middle of Onyx, a Forerunner shield world built to withstand the Rings power

But this is before the spartan 3s, and when fred, linda and kelly are in the shield world.

The bird of Hermes is my name, Eating my wings to make me tame.

Arbiter is no where to be seen till after destruction of the first ring as stated, and does not become the arbiter until then

From what I've seen and looked into Halo: Reach is based off of the first book Halo: The Fall of Reach.

Which takes place chronologically before the happenings in Halo: Combat Evolved.

Meaning the timeline and games lineup as such:
Halo: Reach -> Halo: Combat Evolved -> Halo 2 -> Halo 3: ODST -> Halo 3

I didn't include Halo Wars cuz I don't know much about it or when it is but essentially thats the main timeline. It's not a continuation of Halo 3.

I know how it was believed bungie wouldnt make another Halo game by some but if you think about what they said they only said that Halo 3 would be the last Halo game which apparently did not mean the final Halo game they would make but rather the ending to the series :)

So making a prequel does make sense as well and also isnt contradicting their original statement. Very clever Bungie :3 i can't wait for this game or ODST

ODST takes place right after Regret's ship jumps to the 2nd Halo ring. As for Reach, there are 2 popular theories in circulation right now: One, it actually takes place during the battle of Reach, and isn't related to the MC's messed up slipspace jump at the end of H3; and two: The MC's slipspace jump sends him back in time to the battle of Reach.

Glad someones getting to the point but Holy crap! that second possibility would be crazy! because if that happened then unlike in The Fall of Reach MC would be able to fight on Reach with the others o_O;?
