it sounds kind of -blam!-

that not the point ,but i have seen that odst fall in the pods and that the player is in the pod during the game. do you think you can controle where you land since its a sandbox. (as so i heard)

That would be a neat feature. You do see the rookie's hands grab onto a couple of bars, they could easily be control sticks of some kind.

No, I dont think so. At E3 one of them said that you start the game with very low health and need to find medpacks. In any case, isnt the point that you are seperated from your squad because of a messed up landing?

You only drop in once, and from what I saw it looked pretty scripted, also another pod hit the Rookies and he was pretty dazed afterward, so I don't think you will have any control over it, after an EMP blast from the slipspace rupture, I don't think you can control a dead pod.

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

I don't see why you would be able to. Story-wise... it makes more sense to be dropped into a set location.

Perhaps for Firefight you can select where you want to start on a map and be dropped there. Then again, there might be indoor locations as well which would make that impossible.
