Subject: Why is it called Halo?

Does it have anything to do with the Halos, or did Bungie just name it that for people who wouldn't know its part of the Halo series.

It has to do with the storyline. Halo sounds pretty too.

Because it is the name of the series

People say its bad that there are elites in swat... I personally enjoy killing hundreds of them

Well its the prequel to the Halo trilogy so it having it halo in its name would make perfect sense. I've never read the book before but i think the halo's arent in it.

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

Because that is how the franchise has been branded. It doesn't matter if the game doesn't have to do with the Halo installations, it is of the same universe, the same universe that we've come to know as the "Halo" universe.

because it rids the world of flood(well everything)doing good, seeing as how angels wear halos they are good(but dont destroy anything)

  • 06.01.2009 7:56 PM PDT

Even tho it doesnt take place on a Halo it still takes place in the Halo universe.

the game is set in the Halo universe "spartans, elites, grunts, UNSC etc. etc." that's why it has the name Halo in it, because it's a Halo game... any more stupid questions?

Well because it still deals with the main storyline. Not in the flood, gravemind, actual halo rings being seen sense. Rather in the sense that the Human-Covenant war was started because of the Covenant religious zeal for forerunner relics in the hunt to find the Halo rings with the humans deemed by the prophets as a threat to that journey (for the prophets lied to the covenant telling them that the humans destroy forerunner artifacts every step of the way).

get out of here stalker

Breaking a popular franchised name is going out of tradition! And some people like tradition! I suppose people also like burning people who are thought to be witches, but still!

Well it's a Ringworld, so Halo is a pretty fitting name.

Don't forget it gives them an excuse to have monks chanting every now and then. Wouldn't be "Halo" without them.
