As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn beyond the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.-Lateralus

alot of people would be very, upset so say the least if bungie moved away from halo. This event is in the foreseeable future, BUT if they did it now suicide rates would jump world wide.

Resistance Is Futile...

It's like this... How many people still buy those Star wars games? I swear there is like a new one every year and it still sells like nuts.. Same thing with halo... halo is a universe now with multiple storys everywhere. You could make a thousand different types of Halo games based off the halo universe...

Bungie would make a new type of game and would make it damn good. We know that.
But I dont see them every dropping Halo. Best case maby they will get large enough to develope multiple games at once, like EA.. That way we can have Halo and other stuff.. I think that would be the best route....

Anyone agree?

Ahhh! can't believe they took it out of the dictionary ....and NO I'm not coming out of my shell untill you get that THING off my avatar

yes, lets not forget the halo toys, books, comics, "energy" drinks, clothing, gamer pics, 360 themes, slushies, and all the other stuff. Who can keep track of it...

In my opinoin, those who say, more Halo games are not for more money are showing their age as imature, little gamers...In the real world, the $ rules. Micorsoft has found the $ with Halo...

you cannot reinvent the wheel!

Why on earth are you disappointed?!?!? Why is no one disappointed when they announce FF13?! I mean come on, there are 5 Bungie Halo games, 6 total. They haven't killed the franchise in any way shape or form. There were 13 known Final Fantasy spin-off games last year, and I didn't see much griping about that.

Veto for ARs!!!!

This is going to be the seventh game featuring the Halo franchise.

Halo CE
Halo 2
Dead or Alive 4
Halo 3
Halo Wars
Halo ODST
Halo Reach

and I had to reference friggen DOA4 to get up to 7

I was then going to copy and paste a list of all games featuring the Mario franchise, but I got this message:

3066 characters over limit
Suffice to say, There are over 200 games featuring the Mario franchise.

So, to the OP... what were you saying again?

Who else thinks Bungie should change Brig. Generals to look like this?

-Slindish

What difference would it make if they just called it something else?
An FPS is an FPS and Halo will sell no matter what the game is like.
Also, it owns.

There is no reason to be disappointed. This game will be different than other Halo games, based on two things.

1. The outline of the Spartans on the Halo Reach banner. Judging by that, and by the book, Halo: Fall of Reach, a lot of this game if not all will most likely be spent with Blue Team, which consists of William, Kelly, John, Fred, and Linda. Based on this alone, I can say that it will dramatically change the gameplay to have five Spartans as your team, rather than the Master Chief, occasionally the Arbiter, and some soldiers every once in a while.

2. The fact that there will be a multiplayer Beta. This shows that the multiplayer will be something non identical to Halo 3's multiplayer, similar to Halo 3 ODST. This is evidence that there will be gameplay changes.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

I think a lot of people wanted more Halo.

As long as fresh ideas that are executed properly, can be dished out... then I will keep begging for more Halo.

One of the first 20 to beat Halo 3 on Mythic (Solo Legendary All Skulls On), in the later half I'm guessing
I notice time that light has reflection for, like the rainy magic of nobody else on a lovely day.

If it's anything close to how awesome CE's campaign was, I will be very happy. I'd enjoy killing some more elites that don't speak English for a change.

Halo is the game that made Bungie, it makes sense to further develop the series.

Well you could have bungie do it, or you could have some crap developer half-ass it and make a pile of garbage.

i.e. halo wars?

Although I like that another/nother Halo game is coming, are Bungie going to ever come out with a non-Halo game? Their staff are too talented to be restricted to one gametype/storyline.

As long as its fresh in some way, i'll buy it out of nostalgia for Halo CE. I'll buy anything with "Halo" on it just because of that game.

Halo is the best sci-fi story sense Star Trek. Anything to expand the universe is fine with me, especially if i get to play it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but besides the Halo 3: ODST team, doesn't Bungie have 2 other teams working on games?

So now we know that one of those teams is developing Halo: Reach.

It's almost a given that the third team is working on a non-Halo game considering Bungie's fairly recent comments about their interest in creating other games outside of Halo and the fact that 3 Halo games in development at Bungie would be complete overkill, especially with the Microsoft Halo Team.

  • 06.01.2009 10:55 PM PDT

To answer your question: Yup, I was naked!

Bungie will stop making 'em when people stop buying 'em

  • 06.01.2009 10:57 PM PDT

Rise from Ruin...

If you dont want it, then dont buy it. Me, I cant wait for it, and love the idea of playing more games that cover how epic the novels where. Ive been saying since i read the books and played H2 that i would love to get to play some of those earlier battles. Thanx bungie, im stoked.

If your not into this game, make sure you've at least read the books first, then deciede.

Veto for ARs!!!!

Let me refine my post a bit:

There are more Mario Party games than all of the Halo franchise's games combined.

Now, who exactly did you say was milking their cash cow?

  • 06.01.2009 11:00 PM PDT

want to be a beta tester for bungie

I love Halo but he is right. Bungie is a very open minded company. They can do it

I do not appreciate B.Net Group solicitation. If you ignore this and send me an invitation anyway, I will block communications with you.

Bungie is moving on. They're simply taking Halo with them whenever they are able to. They've dropped several hints that they're going multi-platform with a new, unreleased project already. There's nothing wrong with working on multiple games at a time. If you don't want to play Halo anymore, then don't buy it. They'll release their other projects when they're ready.

You really think Microsoft would let Bungie make a multiplatform game? lol
While I do think they'll make a non halo game after reach (well, by that I mean release), I could never see MS letting them make a PS3 game.

Ok, this is cool and all but Bungie....SERIOUSLY....WE HAVE ENOUGH HALO!

When I saw this trailer I was like "Oh -blam!-, a new game besides Halo, maybe even Marathon!" nope...still Halo. When is Bungie going to move on? :(

Oh and how many garbage call of duty games have there been?

I'm with the haters on this one.

Look, Halo is great. There's no denying the multiplayer is the probably the most robust and capable of almost any game to have come out in years. But seriously.. imagine the amazing game you're NOT getting because of this. What if Nintendo made Mario 64-2 instead of Ocarina of Time? Or if Valve just kept making HL:2 episodes and never made Portal or Left 4 Dead? Or if Bioware made KOTOR 3 instead of Mass Effect.

I'm not saying H:R won't be good, everything this company touches turns to gold, I'm just saying they're pigeon holing themselves here. I hope their 3rd product in the pipeline is a damn kart racer or something.
