It was once said that a million monkeys at a million keyboards could reproduce the works of shakespeare... Now thanks to the internet we know that this is not true

No programmer can pick up a TV remote without thinking what it would take to add a stun gun. [...] Their motto is 'if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet

will he "guide" the way to the rookies death? in a maniacly rampant master plan to save the city?

Eat raw meat.
Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

Probably not, the SI is designed to protect humanity.

Well maybe because they said you never really meet the villain it is. You can't meet a program.

Probably not, the SI is designed to protect humanity.

Or keep the city clean.

Self-proclaimed genius.
Roam the streets with a sign, "will love for false hope."

The Superintendent is most likely going to fill the same role that Durandal, Cortana, and Gravemind have. He may have ulterior motives and rampancy, but you cannot proceed with your mission without his assistance.

The circle is now complete.

^^ However, the Superintendent is not as intelligent as the ones you listed. It merely monitors the city and its human occupants.

No, the Superintendent is not the enemy.

Sure, AI's reach a state of rampancy with age, but they would most likely be discarded well before any signs of deterioration become apparent. After all, it would have to answer to the city's human staff.

I have to say, its job is to direct and protect, nothing more. No mysterious side plot or ulterior motives.

That's true SR20 but remember that the Super refused to assist the ODSTs in destroying public property and quickly reconsidered when they told him that the Covenant would be right on his database if he didn't help them.

So his programming might be limited but that doesn't mean he is unable to comprehend what's going on and be a hindrance to your mission. I would be disappointed if the Super didn't have a sub-plot all his own in ODST. The entire announcement was solely focused on him, after all, and now it's all but shifted to the Rookie and Dare.

That said, the Super's voice was pretty awesome . lol

"Imagination is more important than knowledge"

if you look at the first trailer for ODST youll see that as he gets up and looks around all of the sighs start to show arrows pointing him in the direction he needs to go, my guess is that SI is a computer that guides him around and hacks into things kind of like a less sophistecated Cortana, maybe.

Was that it in the new gameplay vid? I have yet to watch it in its entirety with sound. I must have missed a few things.

Yes, this was realized from the announcement trailer.

I'm sorry, I actually found it from HBO because Bungie.net doesn't mention it. At e3, Joseph Staten showed short gameplay footage where the Rookie makes his drop and has a flashback of Dutch blowing up a bridge.

Oh, I'll have to look into that.

You can watch Dutch's demolition mission here - http://e3.gamespot.com/video/6210721/

Edit: Just watched the vid. You're correct.
