I don't know, I didn't watch the conference, but it seemed like Reach was just kind of mentioned between games. WTF?! Halo 3 was saved for last if I remember right, and people were shocked and awed by it, even though it was already a for sure thing. Maybe it's just because not much is known about Reach. It just doesn't seem like Reach got the reaction that a Halo game should receive. Do you agree or disagree? I also think it's a little weird that ODST and Reach were shown at the same show, in the same conference...

I agree, but I just think it's a little weird that Microsoft just kind of gave the cold shoulder to the game series that got it where it is today.

ISU Cyclones!

It seemed a bit rushed in hindsight and I did notice that the reveal got one of the best crowd reactions to the entire conference. But the other things they announced were big too. So I forgive MS for that one.

I think they wanted to focus on their other games and not rely on Bungie so much anymore.

This.

Microsoft has relied on Bungie a lot in the past. The fact that they don't have to anymore shows how far they have come in such a short amount of time. There are so many things the 360's going to be able to do by next year, it's not even funny.

You already know the 360 is going to have a great game library. I think it's awesome that they can spend more time on console features than the game lineup. I don't think the same can be said for the other two consoles.

No. MS policy has always been to talk most about the games that will be releasing this year. So it makes sense that they would just mention it this E3 since it's coming out next year. 2009 focus = ODST. 2010 focus = Halo: Reach.

It will definitely be interesting to see if this game will get the marketing push that Halo 3 did.
