Subject: Halo: Reach Multiplayer Only?

If it had no campaign they wouldn't sell many to non live users. They also confirmed it is a fps in a weekly update.

Well then why would they have a trailer for the campaign...
And if you say it isn't a campaign trailer, explain how it would fit into MP.

Explanation: Not a FPS.

A lot of you seem to have assumed that this game will be an FPS or third person squad type thing.

How could it be multiplayer only, how could the trailer fit in to multiplayer? MMORPG. I'm not saying Reach will be an MMORPG, in fact I think it rather unlikely, but you need to open you minds, guys! We've got a while before any more news on Reach but who knows, it might not be a single player FPS.

However, answering the original question, I doubt its a multiplayer only game with a trailer which gives us a setting and names of possible characters.

Answer: Bungie has said it is an FPS. SO..... We didnt really assume...

And also, you fail

counter strike anyone??? no campaign needed. and this is halo. a multiplayer only game would sell like crazy...

Dealing with a part of the story as major as Reach, not doing a campaign would be the most stupid option available. As for what Bungie said, they were done with the Halo Trilogy dealing with Master Chief and the Halo rings, they never said they were done with the Halo series.

the story of Reach is when all the spartains (except master chief) die. So you're clearly going to play as a spartain or the Arbiter and see every single spartian die around you. then the very end is the very beginning of Halo: CE

actually Linda and James went with Master Cheif, while going to destroy the map to earth, james died before they even got in the dock, Linda died while opening the doors for the pelican to go, Master Cheif was the only one that survived the space op.

All shooters must have a campaign for it to get a lot of game sells. So I am certain there will be a campaign.

Counter Strike, Counter Strike Source, Team Fortress, Team Fortress Source, Team Fortress 2 are a few multiplayer only FPS that sold amazingly.

Anyways, I doubt that it would be multiplayer only, concidering they where hinting at the story in the teaser

The fact that it's about Reach gives away that there's a plot. In other words, Campaign.

Member of team Master Theory.

17th Mythic Conqueror of Halo 3.
5th Mythic Conqueror of ODST.
If you would like to know more about Mythic difficulty please go to this thread. Thank you.

Please do not send me "recruitment messages" as I'm not interested in joining any groups currently.

If it was MP only I wouldn't buy it.
Besides, the fact that it is called Halo: Reach kind of gives away that it will have a Campaign, hopefully one without the weapon hungry floor and bad pathfinding for AI in Halo 3. IMO Bungie should do what they did with Combat Evolved and focus primarily on the Campaign before the Multiplayer, rather than focus primarily on the MP as they did in Halo 2 and 3.

halo 3 was the end. halo ODST is between halo 2 and 3 and Reach is the begining but after halo wars. (don't tell me bungie didn't make halo wars but it plays right into the story so f-off) point is Halo the trilogy about the halo rings and stopping them from fireing is over they've accomplished that. But there is still sooo much more to the haloverse. and you can't always expect bungie to keep master chief out. hell i'd rather if they didn't, he was squad captin of all spartan IIs for god sake.
