Will is holding a turret, Kelly isn't holing anything, John is holding an Assault Rifle, Fred is holding a knife, and Linda is holding a sniper rifle.

John was on the Pillar of Autum.
Sorry, don't really remember everything. I should've said, "middle guy is holding an Assault Rifle." But wasn't John down there for some of it?

Secondly, the large figure (regardless of species) is holding what seems to be a machine gun, but look closely. The turrets in halo 3 have a sheild on it, and this one does not, not to mention it's fin like appendage on the bottom. Maybe it's a leg of some sort for it, a tripod. Dunno.

Im pretty sure that the cannister underneath is an ammo drum (pic below)

those things do use a lot of ammo...

umm, th BR was introduced long before that, as it was used during the battle of Harvest. just look at the cover for contact harvest. Get you facts straight bfore you post about them.

But it's in First Strike that the Spartans get to use the BR after Dr. Halsey sends them to get the "new weapons that arrived yesterday for field testing." This happens after Reach is glassed so it wouldn't follow the novel if we got to use the BR while defending Reach for the first time.

i woke a bit ago and my son was playing halo 3 he was on forge i saw at the bottom of the screen was a charge for 35 dollars is that real or not did he charge 35 bucks or is that justfor the in game

-NO RECUITMENT MESSAGES PLEASE

In my opinion, the weapon on the left doesn't have a tripod, but rather the long appendage is the belt fed ammunition for an LMG type weapon. That was my first impression when I saw it, anyway...

  • 06.02.2009 12:42 AM PDT

beneath the turret might not actually be a tripod, instead it is more likely the ammo chain that turrets use.

Isn't the trailer compiled of just reach getting bombed?

the big guy on the left is not an elite. its a spartan. compare his armor with the spartan in the middle, pretty much identical. He is just a bigger guy, no one said all Spartans had to be the same size. as for the weapons. Big guy is obviously holding some sort of machine gun with the ammo belt hanging down. Little guy is holding a pistol, You cant really tell what the middle guy is holding, it could be a BR, AR, or even a shotgun. the other one is holding a knife I guess. what else could it be? The one crouching down is obviously holding some type of metal detector to look for planted mines. haha, no its a sniper. I haven't read any of the books, so for me, the BR was introduced in halo 2. so that's not really my argument. If they want to put it in this game that's fine. What if its a different type of game though, like halo wars?

Middle weapon looks like an AR to me.

I agree.

It could be, but the long barrel i think is a sign of a BR.

Could be an MA5B or K.

Yep....

I hope the BR isn't in Halo:Reach.
MLG will again ruin a Halo game,if it is in it.

I wonder if we will see Linda-058's legendary sniping. I heard she once sniped 5 elites out of their banshees while hanging upside down and holding her sniper rifle with one hand

  • 06.02.2009 6:55 AM PDT

Shotgun
Fists (Kelly is a fast Spartan)
Assault Rifle (Let's be frank, is there any better weapon for John?)
Knife
Sniper Rifle (Banshees beware!)

It seems apparent that Bungie is using retro active continuity. ODST which takes place during Halo 2 uses Halo 3 weaponry. Reach will do the same I assume...I'm doubting a halo 1 pistol return.

Ensemble did the same in Halo Wars. It takes place long before Halo 1, yet it contains Spartan Lasers, Elephants, and Hornets (Even Hawks which dont even exist in Halo 3).

Left to right.
Turret, Nothing(pistol on side), AR(Pictures to prove it are on these forums), Combat Knife, Sniper.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

That's not a BR.

And prototype versions of the BR were in use as early as 2525 (when the Covenant first attacked) and there were at least some BRs on Reach, though they are presumably just out of their prototype phase since they were only seen inside the deep recesses of the high-security CASTLE Base (along with the Magnum from Halo 3: ODST)

Im hoping for a new Rifle... CR77 Combat Rifle. Hybrid between the BR and Halo 1 Pistol (4/5sk, 3 rounds/second, 120 meters max range, single shot, 10 rounds/magazine, very low aim assist)

Speculating on material from the teaser trailer is pointless. Most of what was supposedly hinted at gets changed anyway. Nothing you see is representative of the final game. Just wait until they have something to base your speculation on. It's all subjective, you may see a BR, but i see an AR. You just have to wait it out, or give the novels another read.

It's possible that BRs were on the PoA, but the reason they weren't in Halo 1 was because "the Spartans weapons lockers were destroyed" by the Covenant torpedoes. This was stated in either FoR or The Flood.

Well it could be a BR but a prototype as the one in contact havest is a prototype.

Also the weapons they are holding, shieldless turret and BR/AR they could be possibly custom made for the spartans because I remember in the book that they had custom weapons made for them, even though they usually use whatever they can find.

What you guys think?

About the turret. In the ODST trailer, when it shows the firefight gametype, you see the ODST's using mounted turets WITHOUT the shield. So there will probably be turrets in this game without the shield also, and this large figure on the left, is probably carrying it with the tripod under it, so he can mount it when needed. Any one agree?

yeah i think you're on to something

ummm no thats the chain feed of bullets to the turret.....its not a tripod

Dude I don't care and my grammer is perfect.I used "Big", as you recall it to mak is specific."to not do...",is incorrect beause "do" is present tense/perfect(or future) when it was a past tense.

From right to left, I see sniper, combat knife, assault rifle, nothing (or maybe a pistol), and some sort of chaingun.
