The Battle of Reach didn't exactly last for a very long duration. I mean, I need to re-read the book, but theres the part where they land, then they launch the nuclear football, then they are holding the covenant off at the generator. Doesn't exactly sound like a super exciting and lengthy spanning campaign, right?

NAY!

We will go much farther back beyond the battle of Reach, and possibly play major parts in several major battles in the early days of the Halo 3 Covenant War.

It only makes sense for the game to culminate on Reach, right?

i woke a bit ago and my son was playing halo 3 he was on forge i saw at the bottom of the screen was a charge for 35 dollars is that real or not did he charge 35 bucks or is that justfor the in game

-NO RECUITMENT MESSAGES PLEASE

I was just about to make an identical topic to this.

In my eyes, the first campaign mission (calibrating your controls, learning how to jump, crouch, fire, throw grenades etc) will take place when John is first recruited as a SPARTAN, well before MJOLNIR, and will play through all the events up to and including the Fall of Reach.

Yeah, I'm going throught the trilogy of Reach and The Flood, but I haven't read First Strike, so I'm not really sure; and I guess only time will tell!

The game will likely begin when you are wearing Mark IV Mjolnir armor and fighting the covenant on their ship, where Sam dies.

"Empathise with stupidity, and you're halfway to thinking like an idiot." - Iain M. Banks

3 Spartans (Grace, Li, and Anton) were sent to rescue Admiral Whitcomb. Upon hooking up with him, their first mission was to arm the Nova bomb and set it for a timer delay (two weeks, if I remember right). From then on until the Master Chief rejoined them, the Admiral had them doing hit-and-run missions against the Covenant on reach.

There is plenty of fodder for the Halo:Reach story in that.

Actually, there are several engagements with the covenant during the Fall of Reach. There is the battle aboard the covenant ship where sam dies, the battle on Sigma Octanus IV, the battle on Jericho VII, the battle in space for the Nav data, the ground engagement on Reach, and the mission to capture Colonel Watts. So, there is quite a bit for Bungie to work with.

Good idea but what will we fight?

Up until the fight aboard the space dock at the end of the battle of Reach the Humans only encounter Grunts, Jackles, Hunters and some engineers in battle.
