Another speculation is something involving marathon but that game is also over now so my response is simple, stop hoping for a return of the chief and give up on marathon. If i' wrong then i'll admit it but you'll have to prove t.
This is as close to proof as any of us have until something is officially announced. Consider, though, that Frank O'Connor is a headlining content writer for the Halo franchise. I wouldn't take his words lightly.
Well you are a stubborn one, this still does not prove that the chief will be a main character and this is the point i'm making.Did I not just say that it is the closest thing we have to it? I never said it was all-encompassing.
His statement is very obviously in lieu to a future installment featuring the Chief in some fashion. Additionally, you originally stated that he is "gone", not that he wouldn't be a main character. Don't change your claims and then call me stubborn for not disproving them. I'd say that you're the stubborn one for not even considering the possibility when the head content writer is giving us an obviously educated remark about it. Should no one bother having speculative discussion with you at all? If so, this might not be the forum for you at the moment.
Also, Bungie never stated that John's timeline is done. They stated that the "trilogy" is done. That doesn't mean that John is constricted to the confines of said trilogy alone. If that were true, then the Legendary Ending of Halo 3 would be entirely pointless, and is the custom thus far, they've always held meaning that has transferred over to a subsequent game at some point.
